Favortie Toy from HOHO

This is Buzzy's favorite toy. We have built and rebuilt this marble game bunches of times. He has built marble games since he was little bitty. It started with his red Buzzy chair and a quilt. He would cover his chair with the quilt and roll the marble down the quilt. He spied a real marble game in a toy book and that's all we have heard about! Every present he opened he would say "maybe its a marble game." The last present he opened at Mimi's was the famous "Quadrilla Marble Game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" He sqealed and sqealed and had to show it to everyone! Another one of those magical Christmas moments.

Since Buzzy enjoyed opening presents so much, I had a brainstorm for conning him into doing #2 on the potty. I thought maybe we would have Potty Presents. This morning was the first attempt at using the Potty Presents. He came in to tell me that he needed a diaper. I told him that he had presents to open if he would use the potty. He told me that he wanted to save the presents.

Me: are you sure you don't want to open the presents

Buzz: NO

Me: they are wrapped in real pretty blue paper with white ribbon

Buzz: No I want to save them

Me: You don't want to open more presents?

Buzz: No I opened plenty.

I went to get the diaper. Mission failed.

Pictures for Previous Post

Christmas Eve. He was way too tired to wait for more presents.

I Know, I Know

I have gotten two emails letting me know that I am slacking on the blog thing. It has been an incredibly busy weekend. Saturday we went to eat with Heavy, Regina, and Austin. Went to Texas Roadhouse and ate WAY too much. Sunday was church. The special went great. I am not meant to video, because my batteries went dead. Austin did a great job recording for me though. Heavy told me that he was going to put a "Hex" on my camera when it was time for his solo. He must have because that's when it went off....Scary!

Sunday night - Christmas Eve - Mimi, Pappy, NaNa and Papaw came over for finger food. We had the best time. Buzzy got to open his presents from NaNa and Papaw. He wanted to open ALL the presents under the tree. We finally convinced him that we had to wait for HOHO. Mom and I went to get her gifts from her house so we could open. When we got back, Buzzy was sound asleep on the sunporch. Steve tried to keep him awake. They had a little argument and Buzzy went to the porch and went to sleep anyway. He was out until about 8:45 on Christmas morning.

He was absolutely thrilled with his tent that HOHo brought for him. He asked me if I had written HOHO a letter for him, telling HOHO what he wanted. I told him I did. He thanked me and kissed my foot! He would not go sit on HoHo's lap this year. I told him he would have to send HOHO a letter. THat's why he asked me if I had sent HoHo the letter. He told everyone he came across that day that I had sent Hoho a letter telling him what Buzzy wanted him to bring. I forget how innocent my baby is. He acts like a little adult but when the excitement over Hoho was apparent, it truly brings back the magic of Christmas! It made all that work and holiday shopping worth it when Buzzy's eyes were bugged and sparkly!

Mimi and I took him to see "Charlott's Web" last night. I wasn't sure how he would do since he's never been to a movie before. He loved it! It was a really good movie. He had Skittles and Popcorn and was glued to the screen. I just love experiencing all the "new" things with him. I just want to remember every little detail.

I am having problems posting pictures. I will keep trying.

Busy Week

We will be leaving for Alabama on Thursday sometime. We have had a busy week. Sunday's are always busy this time of year, because of choir practice. Steve and Pappy went to Indiana somewhere to look at saw mill machinery on Tuesday. They love looking at that stuff. If Buzzy had known that's what they were doing, he would have thrown a fit to go with them. He wants to come to the mill everyday to put wood on the conveyor belt. He loves conveyor belts and I do believe we have another generation of sawmiller! We went to Wal Mart on Monday and we ran into one of the men that runs the chop saw. I was talking to him and telling Buzzy what the man does at the mill. Buzzy let me know that he knew who the man was. Buzzy and his Daddy had went to visit the man in his booth. Yet again...excuse me!!

It's funny because when I was little and Dad would go out of town, he would always bring me something back. A shirt, hat, toy, just anything to let me know he was thinking about me while he was gone. Buzzy told them to bring him something back when they come back from their trip. I just talked to Steve and him and Pappy were at Target hunting for something for Buzzy! He will be thrilled when they get home. Last night he was concerned with when Daddy was coming home. He has gotten to where he wants a specific time frame, so I told him Daddy would be home by the time he went to bed tonight! That made him happy!

Buzzy woke me up last night getting into my bed. It was about 4 or 4:30 this morning. I was rather incoherent, but I knew that something didn't smell right. I thought Buzzy had had a major accident. When I got woke up enough to use what little brain that I have, I figured out the smell was Skunk, not Buzzy funk! Someone ran over a skunk sometime last night on the main road and it could be smelled all the way to Mom's house. I thought Banjo got sprayed and she thought Reggie had got it, but it was just that poor flatten skunk! Luckily the smell was gone by lunch! Nothing like waking up to the aroma of fresh skunk!!

Quick Trip

We made a quick trip to Nashville to see Radford play Belmont. We got to visit with Uncle Mikey, Ninnie and Jerre at the mall for a little bit and again at the game. Buzzy really wanted Ninnie and Jerre to come see his room. He told them to be careful, because the roads getting to the hotel were "kinda tricky!"

That Uncle Mikey always has tricks up his sleeve. He got the Belmont mascot to come see Buzzy and then he introduced him to the real Santa Claus! Buzzy was impressed with Santa!

He loved our room. We tried to stay at Opryland, but they were full for last night. We stayed downtown at the Double Tree Inn. We had a corner room. It was triangular. Two of the three walls were glass. We could see forever because we were on the eighth floor. It had two heaters! Talk about Country going to town! I was impressed with the two heaters. All those windows made for a cold room!! I hope we can take Buzzy back to see the lights at Opryland before they are taken down. I think he would like them.

Who Is This Child?

Is this the same child? How can he be so angelic one minute and then "himself" the next? I wouldn't change him for the world! I cannot get over how mature he's getting. We carry on actual conversations and he doesn't blink an eye when someone needs correcting!

His Christmas pictures turned out so good. I had to order them from the computer screen the day they were taken. I knew they were good, but not as good as they are in person.

Not too much has gone on the past week. Buzzy and I went to Clarksville on Thursday to go to Chuck E Cheese and the scrapbook store. Mimi and Pappy deserted us and went to the mountains and had to call EVERYDAY to keep me updated on everything that they were doing.
I think Buzzy asked at least 20xs a day when Mimi was coming home. I would give him and answer and even if I said "in five minutes" he would say "That's too long!!!"

I haven't put any presents out yet. Steve brought my birthday presents in two days before my birthday and Buzzy was on top of them. He had those babies unwrapped in no time! He has no restraint when it comes to presents. Christmas morning is going to be wild!!

Steve and I signed up for volleyball at church. Let me rephrase - I signed US up. He said it's fine as long as he's on a winning team. I played when I was in HS at our other church and had a blast. Heavy said he would play if Steve did, so I know Steve will have a good time!

I will try to get everyones pictures delivered or in the mail this week. They will probably come with the Christmas cards. Everybody, have a good week!

Row, Row, Row Your Boat

Ever since we saw the picture of Garrett in his "house," Buzzy has wanted a box to play in too. Our TV went out this week, and Buzzy was so excited to get the new TV out of the box so he could start using it! He put the box back on the base that the TV sat in and called his a houseboat! I can't wait for him to get tired of it, so it can go outside!

We have all been sick...Again. Colds, allergies, sinuses, whatever you want to call it. Steve, Buzzy, and I have been sick at one time or another since Monday. Buzzy started us off, then Steve, and I'm bringing up the rear! We went Christmas/TV shopping last night and we were all beat when we got home. Steve has had the shakes since the TV went out, so we had to find him another one before he had a seizure! He got himself a 50 incher. I told him I could get used to the 27 inch one that was substituting until we found a replacement. Steve acted like that offended him! He said he would NOT be downsizing! Excuuuuuuse me! The purchase of the new TV sure let me off the hook for Steve's present for this year! Thank goodness! He is so hard to shop for.

Other than the "houseboat" in our living room, we have had an uneventful weekend. Steve blew leaves and mowed today, and I am going to try this Susie Homemaker thing out, again. We had lasagne for supper tonight. I made it all myself, not the frozen kind. It turned out real good. We had salad and bread and cupcakes for dessert. I am going to try a Ninnie Ham tomorrow night. I am hoping for anything close to hers! I'll let you know how it turns out!

Thanksgiving and the day after

Thanksgiving was at Aunhee's house this year. Usually it's at Wendy's, but it was moved here for this year. It was quite delicious too! Aunhee did a really good job! She had me a little cake and I let Buzzy take care of it for me! Buzzy had a really good time going up and down the basement stairs too! I thought it was rather hilarious when he asked Aunhee when Lucas was going home! Buzzy is used to having Aunhee and Nana all to himself, and he still hasn't gotten used to having someone else around that demands as much attention as he does!

Mimi and I went shopping today while Buzzy helped with the concrete pouring at the mill. The crowds weren't near as bad as I had anticipated. I ran into Aunhee and Gary at TJ Maxx. We came back to Mimi's for cupcakes! She made my favorite, white cake with cream cheese icing and sprinkles. I think when i turn 50, I'll still want the same thing!

Little Helper

Monday, Buzzy and I went to Bowling Green to do some Christmas shopping. Steve was working on a conveyor belt when we went by to tell him where we were going. Buzzy told me that when we got home, he wanted to go help Daddy at the mill. He was upset when it got dark and he couldn't go. So yesterday, Steve told him he could come over while they poured concrete. He was so excited! He had to wear his "concrete boots". He loves going to the mill and playing in the chip pile, riding on the loaders, and helping out whenever Daddy needs a hand! He was washing the concrete off his boots in this picture!

Weekend Visitors

Steve's parents and Ninnie came to visit this weekend. They arrived on Saturday and left Sunday afternoon. We had a really good time. Ninnie and I provided the food and Glenda provided the entertainment for Buzzy! I think she built about 200 "castles" for Buzzy's monster truck to crash! Ninnie brought Buzzy his customary Unbirthday cake! It was destroyed within a small amount of time! Today, he thought he would start in on mine, but he found out real quick that he wasn't playing in my cake!

We all went to church this morning. They got to hear me sing.... Don't know if that's good or bad for them! We ate lunch at the Purple Onion. We visited a little this afternoon before they headed back to Alabama.

We went to see Lucas tonight at Aunhee's. Lucas is so sweet! Buzzy's not too sure about him yet! It's funny watching them together! We are all looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner at Aunhee's house! I'm sure we will all eat too much and then pass out!

We went to see Mimi's Christmas tree on our way home. I am so glad that all of my Christmas decorations are already up. That was a lot of work and I am already dreading taking it all down! I guess I should have taken down my fall decorations first! Knowing me, we will still be decorated for fall and Christmas come spring!

Christmas Times A Comin"

Christmas has officially started at our house! Buzzy and I put two of our trees up yesterday. He was so helpful and excited! The outside of the house is still decorated for fall and it's Christmas inside! We still have one more tree to put up and some stuff here and there. I like putting it up early. We get to enjoy it much longer!

Home

For anyone concerned, we are home. Got home around 7:30pm. Steve carried all our stuff in and has disappeared to the garage! Guess he missed it! He had to stop by the office to pick up some parts that had shipped in while we were gone, so I guess he just couldn't wait to get them on the car! Buzzy is having milk and cookies and watching his cartoon. I guess I need to start unpacking. Yuck!

All Good Things Must Come to An End :-(

We had the perfect last day here. Mimi, Buzzy and I played on the beach all day. We built sandcastles, hunted for shells, and walked down to the St. Andrews pier. I had to carry Buzzy half the way back and he got HEAVY!! He got "tarred!" We picked up some great shells. I remember the last time Mimi, Pappy and I went to Gulf Shores, we picked up a bunch of sand dollars. Here, there are tons of shells. There are mostly the little, pretty white shells, but every now and then you run across a nice size funky looking shell. We almost filled up Buzzy's sand bucket. It was so much fun!

We had our photo op on the beach this evening. There was a chance of rain and the clouds were rolling in. My hair was wet and Mimi and Pappy were wanting to go back to the RV, so I hurried and dried my hair and we got to the beach. Of course, Mr. congeniality looked everywhere but the camera, and it started raining on us! Steve kept saying 'That's good, we're done." I kept trying for the "perfect" picture. Finally Steve put his foot down and said "listen it's raining and the race is on!" End of photo shoot! We still ended up with four really good ones. They are going to be great for our Christmas cards!

We are leaving early in the morning so we can get home before it's too late. We aren't real comfy traveling in the RV after dark. I've got to get all of our stuff loaded so all we have to do is leave in the morning. We'll be seeing or talking to everyone later in the week. Bye for now!

Friday

Gilligan and the Skipper went deep sea fishing today. They say they had a good time. They left early and were back when we got back from Destin.

We went by Baytowne Wharf and Destin Commons and had lunch at The Donut Hole in Destin. Yum yum! Buzzy went on and on about playing golf, so Mimi dropped us off for mini golf while she went to the Fancy Flamingo. Destin was as crowded today as it was in May, if not a little busier. School was out for Veterans Day, so that may have been some of the reason. Buzzy played at the playground at Destin Commons. He loves it. He wants to go back tomorrow, but we will probably spend our last day on the beach.

We had supper at Schooners tonight. It was pretty good, but we are going back to Scampi's tomorrow night. We have to get that last really good meal before our long drive home Sunday. Buzzy's supper was served in a frisbee tonight, and he loved that. We walked to eat, so him and Steve played frisbee on the way back to the room.

I think Buzzy knows when the race is getting ready to go off. He insisted on sitting on Steve's shoulders with 3 laps to go in the truck race tonight. I guess he was having separation anxiety from Steve! He loves his Daddy and wasn't too thrilled that Steve had left him behind today when they went fishing. He told Steve that next time, he wants to go too! Steve told him next year, he can go for sure! I wouldn't care to go myself. I would like for Mimi to go too, just to see how many different shades of green she will turn!!

As you can see, Buzzy has figured the camera taking out! He told me earlier "No taking pictures, girl." In this picture, he is winking. He likes to put his back to me. I don't think I got one decent picture today, because he either turns his head, picks his nose, winks, just anything to get me to stop! He's such a boy!

Beach Beauties

We spent most of this morning on the beach. Steve and Buzzy dug in the sand. I layed out and then went for a walk up the beach. There were shells here and there. I am hoping to find a sand dollar before we come home. If I had been brave enough to go into the water, I bet I could have found one. There were pieces of some pretty big ones washed up on the beach.

We came in for lunch and Steve and Buzzy stayed in while I went back down by the pool. The breeze was blowing real nice and I didn't even sweat while I was laying out. There aren't many people here at all. The only loud, screaming children at the pool belonged to me! While I was laying out, Buzzy kept coming out on the balcony and hollering at me. He was afraid that I would forget that we were supposed to play golf this evening.

We went and picked Mimi and Pappy up and went to play golf. After we were done, we went to the docks to find Pappy and Stevie a fishing boat for tomorrow. They are going on a 5 hour trip. Talk about getting some sun, they will be fried when they get back.

We ate supper at Capt. Anderson's and, this is my own opinion, but I think it's way overrated. The place we ate last night was way better and way cheaper. It was good, but after Scampi's last night, it just didn't quite measure up.

We are now in for the evening and we are all beat. Pappy and Stevie are heading out early for fishing tomorrow and us girls and Buzzy are heading to Destin. It's nice here, but I still think I like Destin better. A lot of things are closed here this time of year and Destin has much better shopping! I will probably go back to Destin next time. It's still my favorite. Until tomorrow......

Wish you were here!

Our view this morning!

We're Here!!

We arrived in Panama City around 4:30. The weather is really nice, a little windy, but nice. I hope it gets warm enough that Buzzwuz can swim at least a little. The sun was just setting when we got into our condo and there was a little girl down on the beach. I can't wait to get Buzzy down there. He already wants to know if this beach has "funny clouds." I've told him they are only at the other beach! All we have heard ALL THE WAY HERE, is he wants to play golf, golf, golf, golf! Thank goodness when we finally found the mini golf courses tonight, he was sound asleep in the back seat of our mini van!!! I will never buy a mini van, but, hey, I can rent one!! I told Steve I bet that he had never imagined that he would be rollin' down the strip of PCB in his mini van with his wife and kid!!

Our condo is probably the nicest condo I have EVER rented, and we have rented quite a few! We ate at a place called Scampi's tonight and it was so good. That was the one thing that I was most worried about was if there were good places to eat, and we definately found one! After short round with the stomach flu, I am feeling much better, thank goodness. When we left yesterday, I didn't know how riding in the RV was going to work. After a nice nap and a pit stop at Shoney's, I was feeling much better. So much better, in fact, that I had a brownie when we got back to the RV! You know I'm sick when I turn down a chocolate chip cookie!

Buzzy was wild last night and he's had a nap tonight, so he will probably never go to bed. Steve drove the RV yesterday, so he can no longer say that he doesn't know how to drive. We can now go on our own trips!! I'll just have to hook the pooper hose up. He still hides when Pappy pulls the pooper hose out!! You know you are getting old when you travel in a RV and rent mini vans!!

I am so glad to be here. We have had a quite a ride this year and we are all looking forward to resting and relaxing! Toodles, until tomorrow!

P.S. I read this to Steve and he thinks I am a dork!!

Lazy Day

Steve, Buzzy, and I got up early this morning and went to Clarksville for the day. There was a car parts shop that Steve wanted to check out and I needed, let me reword - wanted, to pick up some stuff at the scrapbook store (like I don't have enough stuff!). We had lunch and went by Target. Steve got to experience the deliberation over which toy Buzzy wants. You have to walk up and down the aisles several times, pick up and put back numerous things, until finally the perfect toy is found! Today's find was the Hungry Hippos game. He's been into games lately, and he's accumulating quite a few! Yeah, more toys!!!

We stopped by the lake house to pick up our swimsuits and we all laid down and had a nice nap! I told Steve that it felt like a Sunday to me. I guess it's because we have been lazy all day! It was so nice spending a Saturday with my two boys. We are usually busy and running in different directions on Saturday, but today was kind of a spur of the moment trip, and it was nice.

Buzzy is so excited about going to the beach. He wants to bury Pappy and Daddy! That's all I've heard about ever since we planned the trip! Mimi and I are really excited about this trip. We haven't been to Panama City since I was in the fifth grade. This trip is for true R&R! Buzzy wants to swim and I will take full advantage of the sun! I'm planning on taking the computer so I can post while we are there. I hope to take LOTS of pictures while we are gone. Buzzy had his Christmas pictures made on Thursday. They turned out really good. I hope we can get a picture on the beach of the three of us. I love those kinds of pictures.

Everybody have a nice week! Next post should have beach pictures!!

Yee Haw

We had the cutest little cowboy on the street this afternoon! Buzzy and I went trick or treating with Chandra and Chandler in downtown Central City! He loved it. He wasn't so sure until he got his first candy and he was all for it then! Steve was at the race shop visiting Stewart, so we had to go by there before we went to town. I told him to ask Stewart for "Trick or Money!" It worked! Stewart gave him a dollar and a sucker!! This is his first year going to town, and I think he will definately be going back for quite a few years!

Practice #1

Steve finally got to get some laps in at the track this afternoon. He did really good - that's my stand point! Dad and Stewart kept the lap times and they were both right together. Steve's best lap was a 16.7. The top runners in the class he will be running have lap speeds of 15.8 to 16 flat. He was very happy with his speed for his first time on the track, in a car that he has never driven, and on a surface he's never raced on before! That's as technical as I can get. If anyone has anymore techno questions, you'll just have to call him!

Buzzy was great pit support. He would give Steve his drink and some animal crackers when he came in between runs! He wanted to be right in the middle of everything. He will probably be the youngest crew chief in the history of nascar! I just read that paragraph to Steve and Buzzy heard and answered "That's ME!!" He is crazy! I don't know when Steve will get to go again, but I know he probably can't wait until he does! He's in love!

I am having problems yet again uploading my pictures. I will just do one now, if I can do one!

Caution - Men At Work!

These are a few pictures from Friday night. I just though they were the best! Buzzy has really taken up with Heavy and Austin. Steve was under the car and he would holler to Heavy what he was needing. Buzzy would run to Heavy saying "I'll get it, I'll get it!" He would get the part from Heavy and take it back to Steve! The four of them are quite the crew! It's so nice for the two Dads and the two sons to hand out together!

Fall Festival

Green River Chapels Fall Festival was on Saturday. I was in charge of the marshmellow roasting (If you can be in charge of that!). I had a blast. This is the first year that I have even gone and it was so much fun. A man and woman from church made homemade corn dogs and we heard that they did around 500! I'll find out today at church for sure. I know my immediate family had nine all together! THat's me, Steve, and Buzzy. I won't disclosed who ate what! Buzzy played in the bouncy thing. He would have ALL day, but the older boys got a little rough and Mimi had to let her "Mimi instincts" kick in and call a little boy on it! Buzzy had to rest until it cleared out a little, and he was NOT happy! Daddy was thrilled when Mimi and Pappy showed up!

He had work to do. The rain and late arriving parts kept him from practicing his car on Saturday, but if all goes as planned, he will be practicing on Monday evening. I am going whether he wants me to or not! I am the official team photographer!

He and Heavy were in the garage until after midnight on Friday. Heavy's wife was worried because Heavy had their baby, Austin, out with him! I just go to bed anymore. I know Steve was there when I got up, but I couldn't tell ya what time he came in!

I have way too many pictures that I want to post and this thing will only let me do 5, that I've found. I'm going to try while I take my bath and see what happens.

Dirty Mouth

I was getting ready to blog that not much has been going on around here. Steve has been busy with his car, and me and Buzzy have been kind of hanging out. It's been real rainy, so we've tried to stay in.

As soon as I thought that I didn't have anything new to put on, I go into the living room where I find my beautiful boy! I always said that I would never take my child out in public with a dirty face or dirty clothes. Well I didn't say anything about staying home with a child with a dirty mouth, right? He is the best!

Goodies!

Buzzy got his package from Ninnie today. He was soooo excited. He dumped his candy out on the table and could not get over all of his "goodies." He kept asking "why did I get all theses goodies, Look at all my goodies, who sent me these goodies?" He did a little jig and just went on and on about all of his "goodies!" Of course, he had to taste test one of just about everything. When he was finished, he layed in floor, rubbing his belly saying "oh, my bewwy huuts." He is such a stinker. Thank you Ninnie! You made his day!

Which is real?

Banjo is the best pet ever! He has more personality than all of the cats put together. He is so smart too (when he wants to be). He knows that he cannot go into Steve's garage. Steve can leave the door open all day, and Banjo will never step that first foot inside (I'm not saying that Steve hasn't threatened his life, which is a possibility!). He lays just outside the door. He is an excellent walking buddy - except for my girl friends!! Buzzy, Banjo and I had started walking at the trail pretty regular, but since we've been sick and our other walking buddies went to Disney World, we have gotten off schedule. I love this dog. I love my cats too! I just have too many to pick a favorite!

For those of you who are interested, Steve started his car today. He has a perma-smile on his face! Pappy said it was rather impressive when they started it up. Stewart helped him wire it and some other things that are WAY over my head. I just know you gotta put fuel in it and drive it. That's all I need to know. Steve's firesuit came today, so he will probably be taking the car to practice in the next couple of weeks. I will be sure to take pictures of that! After all, that's what I started this blog for! Everybody have a great weekend.!

New Book - It's great!

I started reading a wonderful book today. It's by Dr. Phil's wife. I think he's brilliant, so she can't be too bad herself. Steve and I have an awesome counselor that we have been seeing during Steve's recovery. We both feel comfortable and confident in him. He definitely has our best interests in mind. He is a wonderful man and I truly feel that God sent us to him.

This book that I am reading is about life, of course, and living with passion and purpose. The very first chapter covered some things that have already hit close in my heart. I know that I have been fortunate in this life to have loving, nurturing women in my family. My Mamaw, Dad's mom, passed away when I was a senior in high school, but she always made it known how much she loved her family. The first chapter covers just that. Robin - the author- says that she wants to "be proud of herself because she raised decent children. She does not ever want to live with the regret of knowing she could have tried a little harder to help her children become happy, healthy adults." The following is an excerpt from the book. I just hope and pray that when Buzzy is an adult and has a family of his own, that I can truly say this myself! Enjoy!

From "Inside My Heart" By Robin McGraw

"It's always been important to me to know I was doing the best I could at the time I was doing it, even if my best sometimes wasn't all that good. Both Jay and Jordan (Her children) managed to survive my mothering mishaps, which is a relief to me. I firmly believe that how happy my sons are is a reflection of who I am and how well I did my job. Being a mother is more than a phase in my life; for me, It's a never-ending mission, my calling here on earth. And when the time comes and I'm standing before my heavenly Father, I just want Him to say to me "'Job well done."'

You can look after your children every day, make sure they have clean clothes, and make sure they're at home every night, but there's more to mothering than that. I always wanted my boys to have joy inside of them, that peace and excitement and pride about who they are. I wanted to not only make sure they were physically taken care of but spiritually and emotionally taken care of, too. There are so many responsibilities to parenting, and I always wanted to make sure I'd done everything I could to give them not only the basics they needed to stay alive, but the spirit and enthusiasm to really be alive, to live with passion and gusto and joy.

No one's perfect. My kids aren't perfect and I'm not perfect. We don't agree about everything, and every once in a while one of them will do something that makes me want to ask what in the heck they were thinking. But I can honestly say that I feel confident that I've done everything I'm capable of doing."----------------------

Indoor Smores

Buzzy has been watching a cartoon that shows the characters camping and making Smores. We had a fire a couple weeks ago to burn some limbs and things. Steve and Buzzy went to the grocery to get the ingredients for Smores. Yesterday it was raining and nasty out and Mr. Buzz decided he wanted to make smores. I had a panic moment, but decided the microwave would work! We made a few batches of smores. He would take one or two bites and be ready to "cook" another one! We had a great, messy time!

Tweety Bird

As most everyone knows, we have a parakeet now. Her name is Tweety bird. I got her for Buzzy in June. She's really good company. The house is really quiet when she's not here. NaNA keeps her for us when we have to be gone from home. When we went to Pigeon Forge in September, Nana kept her and we have just gotten her back! NaNa won't admit it, but I think she kinda likes her too! At one time, Steve and I said we would never have another bird. It seems like everytime that I say "I'm never," I do just what I say "I'm never" going to do! Sometimes it's not so bad! I always had animals growing up. I always loved having them, and I want Buzzy to experience all different kinds of pets. Thanks to K and Tommy , he can be around horses. If he ever wants a horse it will have to stay at Mimi and Pappy's. They have much more room! I've tried to talk Steve into a miniature donkey for quite some time now, but he says that will "never" happen! Remember, never say never, Stevie!!

Just a swingin'

Mimi and I took Buzzy to the park in Clifty on the way home from Clarksville on Thursday. He had a blast. If it hadn't been so cold, we would have stayed longer. He wants to go back and have a picnic there. He told us to make sure we have a blanket when we get ready for the picnic!

He played on his new swing set yesterday evening until it got too dark to be out. Banjo had gotten in trouble, so he wasn't bothering us. Let's just say, he is 100% puppy! I will be glad when he is a big dog! Buzzy loves his swing set, but not the dog. He's not played on his swing set much because he doesn't like Banjo. For awhile, he would only go outside when I put Banjo on his leash. As much as Steve and I like dogs, I would have never dreamed that Buzzy would despise them so much. He played out on his swing set most all day today. Banjo has finally figured out that it's more fun to torment the cats and not Buzzy!

I had my second voice lesson today. I am enjoying it a lot more than I ever thought I would! My friend Diane thinks I am ready to sing at church tomorrow, but we'll just have to see. I'm not quite sure I am that confident, yet! Mimi and K gave me good reviews after their preview performance last night! I'm not sure about Mimi, but I know K would tell me if she thought I was terrible! Have a good weekend and enjoy this great fall weather!

The Perfect One

Yesterday, Buzzy told me that he wanted me to stay home with him today. He told me that I am "the perfect girl!" Tonight is the first night that he's not wanted to go to the garage with Steve. He said he was staying with me because I am the perfect girl for him! Where in the world has he heard that? Steve was in here when he told me that and we just smiled at each other. It absolutely made my day! I must say that Buzzy is the perfect boy for us! He has brought so many smiles to our faces. My Mamaw always called Dad her baby. He was the youngest, but she said no matter his age, he would always be her baby. I'm afraid I feel the exact same way about my baby!

A day of Croquet

Buzzy loves to play croquet at Nana and Judy's. We went to visit Nana and Papaw this afternoon and they had the croquet set ready!! Buzzy ran up and down and around and around after those croquet balls! He helped Papaw "hammer" in the end points. He just hammered Papaws finger more than the stick!! I'm sure he and Papaw will sleep good tonight after their afternoon jaunt!

He is in the garage with his Daddy now. Steve takes him down to the garage just about every evening. Buzzy was so tired last night that he fell asleep on the lounge chair, garage dirt and all! He loves working on that race car! I am so thankful that Steve is the kind of dad that wants his son with him all the time. There are so many little boys that don't have that in a father.

Thinking about the important men in Buzzy's life made me think of this quote that I found the other day. Yes Mimi, it came from a scrapbooking magazine, hee hee!

"Fathering is the most masculine thing a man can do."

Design on a Dime

Today has been a long day!! Mimi, Buzzy, and I painted mine and Steve's bedroom. I tried to get started early because I knew Buzzy would want to help. Sure thing! He was a wonderful helper yet again. I don't think I would have ever gotten done if Mimi and Buzzy hadn't been here to help. Steve has been in the garage all day and hasn't seen it yet! He is definately going to be surprised! We might sleep upstairs for awhile so we don't mess it up!! He has gotten his motor in his car. I don't know any details, I just know he has been in the garage ALL day!! He conned Mimi into helping with the painting so he wouldn't have too! What a wonderful mother-in-law!! What about the finished product?

Happy Fall Ya'll!!

Buzzy loves the pumpkins and had a blast helping me decorate the front porch. He's such a good boy and a wonderful helper! He's been waiting for the leaves to fall so he can play in the leaves! It won't be too much longer until he can do that!

One wild birthday!

Happy Birthday Stevie!! Stevie turned 32 today! We had him a little get-together - us three, Mimi, Pappy and Phil- for cake. Buzzy has wanted to blow out candles all day, so Steve let him help. We had to do that before we could eat. Buzzy had to stick his finger in the cake - thanks Uncle Mikey!- and he was happy! Buzzy likes taking a bubble bath and that's what it took to get all the icing off of him! Thanks everyone for the presents for Stevie. He loved everything and really appreciates everyone thinking of him!

Little Racer

As most everyone knows by now, Steve has his car. Buzzy is loving every minute that he gets to be in the garage with "the boys." I tried to get him to come in the house one night when there were a bunch of Steve's buddies down there and Buzzy informed me that he wanted to stay with "the boys." Excuse me! I'm so glad that Steve lets him spend time with him in the garage. It's good for both of them!! We weren't paying attention the other night, and Buzzy had made himself at home in the engine compartment. He was so proud of his trick. I just had to get a picture! Hope you enjoy and if anyone has any extra money laying around please send it to Steve's racing fund!!
