This week...

I have been a huge slacker with my picture taking this week. I did take a few, so here are my favorites.

2-22 - Henry loves to help make up my bed. He hands my pillows to me and then jumps up on the bed to destroy my freshly made linens. Today while I was trying to capture him in action, he layed down on his belly, posed and said "Cheese." Yes another word! I think his vocabulary consists of 4 or 5 words now! He's talking more than Buzzy did at this age, but when Buzzy started, he's never stopped!

2-23 - It's naptime when Henry climbs in the recliner with two plugs - one for me, one for him - and a handful of my hair!

2-24 - Buzzy made a birthday card for Ryan's girlfriend. He was really proud of his creation!

2-25 - I love Henry's eyelashes. Both of my boys have eyelashes that little girls are going to love!

2-26 - The kindergarten has FRY words that they work on each week. At the end of kindergarten, they are supposed to have mastered the first 100. On February 5th, Buzzy's teacher sent his FRY word assessment sheet home saying he had already mastered the first 100. She included the next two units - 200 and 300. Today she sent home his practice sheet for the second hundred. He knew all of them but 5! It has taken him only a couple weeks to almost master the second unit! Next week the class will be working on unit 8, but Buzzy was sent home worksheets to practice unit 20! Yeah, I guess you could say I'm proud!

2-27 - I guess this is brag on Buzzy week! Buzzy's class has writing prompts where the teacher writes part of a sentence and then each student fills in the blank. This prompt was "If I went fishing I would catch....a shortfin mako shark. (I think I spelled that right.) Buzzy wouldn't catch a fish, turtle, or old tire. He wouldn't even catch a normal shark. He would catch the shortfin mako shark! He is such a sponge. He has soaked up all the information about the different sharks in the book that he chose at the book fair!
2-28 - I am going to attempt to create Henry & Buzzy a quilted quiet book. This could be interesting!

Henry's Funny Faces

He wasn't sure what I was doing sitting in the floor with the camera!

But it was really funny!

Made him scream!

The flash was too bright!

Ninnie's Party

Happy Birthday to the best Ninnie ever! She had her birthday party at the famous Top Of the River in Gadsden, Alabama with her family and friends. Poor Ninnie was cursed with four grandsons and just one girl, so she loves having girls around. Girls rule, boys drool! Her real granddaughter wasn't able to attend, but Ninnie gets to spend all of next weekend with her.
Ninnie with her grand-daughters-in-law, one that will be soon, and one that I'm hoping stays around for a while! That's Ashleigh Ashley, Beau's wife, Rita, Ryan's friend, Ninnie, Loren, Dave's fiance, and her favorite, me! Sorry Loren, it's true!

Ninnie and Buzzy were posing for a very special picture together. Did I mention that she LOVES me?
I love Dave. When he gets my camera, I never know what kind of surprise I'm going to find. There is always the pictures of him -

But this time, he captured a special picture.

Gotta love Dave! I'm so glad he's not 15 anymore.

This week

2-15 - My flowers from the boys were so pretty

2-16 - Henry always makes a mess and then is anxious to help with the clean-up.

2-17 - Steve started my floor!!!!

2-18 - Buzzy says he's going to work for LEGO when he grows up. He wants to be a designer for them.

2-19 - Henry has started putting things in, not only his mouth, but now his ears. Great.

2-20 - Ninnie's 80th birthday party.

2-21 - Henry loves his MegaBloks. He was making so many funny faces for me, but this was my favorite because he was laughing out loud!

Our week in pictures.

Banjo has been spending lots of time in his house. This snow is rough on his tootsies!

Supper at El Bracero for Tommy's birthday. We left our hoodlums at home so our dinner would be peaceful!

I'm proud of my curtains!

Our family project for school for February was making Buzzy's Valentine mailbox. He had an orange kitty with white stripes and blue and yellow hearts!

Buzzy Cousins!

Waking up to two of three of the best Valentine's! They each brought me a single red rose. I love my boys so so much!

Upward Basketball

Anyone that has read my blog for awhile remembers this post http://leslieashley.blogspot.com/2009/04/practicing.html. Buzzy, like everyone, loves money. The term "money talks" applies to Buzzy more than any person I have ever seen. Just one night this week, I was having problems getting him to clean up his room. I told him that if he had it cleaned up by the time I counted to 60, I would give him $5.00. You know his room was clean in 60 seconds! He has sold candy bars, lemonade and peppermints at the office. This kids knows how to make a dollar.

Flash forward to the Upward Game this weekend. I was taking pictures and really proud of Buzzy's performance. In the words of his coach, he was a "rebounding machine." He was being aggresive, taking shots, and overall, playing like he's never played. At the end of the quarter, he had made 4 points and as he ran back to the bench he held up 4 fingers with a big smile on his face. I felt his excitement! I went over to sit with Steve & Henry during the next quarter. When I took my seat, Steve asked how many baskets Buzzy had gotten. I said I wasn't sure if his four fingers meant four baskets or four points. Steve gritted his teeth and said "it means four dollars." I asked "WHAT?" Steve had made a deal with Buzzy that he would give him $2.00 for every basket that he made. Finally the pieces of the great performance puzzle were coming together. At the end of the game, Buzzy had scored 24 points, or as he saw it $24.00!

Taking a shot.

Hands up, defending the basket.

Making sure Daddy was watching

Oh Yeah!

Hey Daddy, Two more!

Legos, here I come!

In your face, Daddy!

Do I need to tell you, AGAIN??

Daddy watching

And wondering how much he's in debt now!

Random Pictures to Post

Just pictures from today.
We had supper with Kara, Tommy & my favorite little girl tonight. She is just an angel! She loves me as much as I love her. She whispered it in my ear. I'm serious!

I made these curtains. I'm serious again, for real.

My chair is so ready for summer.

Project Life

I am trying to scrapbook more, but I am not being very successful. For the time being, I am doing just a picture everyday for an album called Project Life. So here are my pictures of the day for the last two weeks. Hopefully I will keep my blog better updated, as well!

1-24 - 100th day of school project = 100 legos in the shape of a, what else, 100!
1-25 - Steve worked on Buzzy's new closet all evening. And it turned out great!

1-26 - Henry loves brushing his teeth and it doesn't matter whose toothbrush he uses either, YUCK! This was his very own Tigger toothbrush, thank goodness!

1-27 - Mimi received her Project Life today. I'm betting she doesn't do it!

1-28 - Steve was helping me move things from upstairs to down. A chair cushion with a plywood base fell on his in-grown toenail. He hit the wall with the base of his hand, not realizing just how much force he used! I thought he was going to pass out from the pain he felt in his throbbing toe!

1-29 - Snow day. These two have wrestled with each other and me all day!

1-30 - We woke up to 5-6 inches of snow! We headed straight to Mimi's driveway for sledding and then chili!

1-31 - Henry spent quality alone time with Mimi & Pappy while Steve, Buzzy and me hit the slopes!

2-1 - Snow day again! I'm not sure who likes the computer more, me or Buzzy!

2-2 - Henry loves the hairdryer! He's doing exactly what I do when I dry my hair!

2-3 - I invited NaNa & Papaw for lunch with Mom & me. Aunhee came by, so she stayed for Taco soup and fried cornbread! They all have February birthdays, so this was their birthday dinner from me!

2-4 - Henry's breakfast of champions - cheese puff corn & water!

2-5 - Henry takes a shower with Steve almost every night. When he's finished getting washed, he peeks over the top and hollers for "Ma!"

2-6 - Another trip to Lowe's for more closet organizers! Look at Steve's excitement!

2-7 - The closet in my soon-to-be scrapbook room! Henry is moving out, I'm moving in!

2-8 - Brother movie time on the sun porch as it blizzards outside!
