Yee Haw

We had the cutest little cowboy on the street this afternoon! Buzzy and I went trick or treating with Chandra and Chandler in downtown Central City! He loved it. He wasn't so sure until he got his first candy and he was all for it then! Steve was at the race shop visiting Stewart, so we had to go by there before we went to town. I told him to ask Stewart for "Trick or Money!" It worked! Stewart gave him a dollar and a sucker!! This is his first year going to town, and I think he will definately be going back for quite a few years!

Practice #1

Steve finally got to get some laps in at the track this afternoon. He did really good - that's my stand point! Dad and Stewart kept the lap times and they were both right together. Steve's best lap was a 16.7. The top runners in the class he will be running have lap speeds of 15.8 to 16 flat. He was very happy with his speed for his first time on the track, in a car that he has never driven, and on a surface he's never raced on before! That's as technical as I can get. If anyone has anymore techno questions, you'll just have to call him!

Buzzy was great pit support. He would give Steve his drink and some animal crackers when he came in between runs! He wanted to be right in the middle of everything. He will probably be the youngest crew chief in the history of nascar! I just read that paragraph to Steve and Buzzy heard and answered "That's ME!!" He is crazy! I don't know when Steve will get to go again, but I know he probably can't wait until he does! He's in love!

I am having problems yet again uploading my pictures. I will just do one now, if I can do one!

Caution - Men At Work!

These are a few pictures from Friday night. I just though they were the best! Buzzy has really taken up with Heavy and Austin. Steve was under the car and he would holler to Heavy what he was needing. Buzzy would run to Heavy saying "I'll get it, I'll get it!" He would get the part from Heavy and take it back to Steve! The four of them are quite the crew! It's so nice for the two Dads and the two sons to hand out together!

Fall Festival

Green River Chapels Fall Festival was on Saturday. I was in charge of the marshmellow roasting (If you can be in charge of that!). I had a blast. This is the first year that I have even gone and it was so much fun. A man and woman from church made homemade corn dogs and we heard that they did around 500! I'll find out today at church for sure. I know my immediate family had nine all together! THat's me, Steve, and Buzzy. I won't disclosed who ate what! Buzzy played in the bouncy thing. He would have ALL day, but the older boys got a little rough and Mimi had to let her "Mimi instincts" kick in and call a little boy on it! Buzzy had to rest until it cleared out a little, and he was NOT happy! Daddy was thrilled when Mimi and Pappy showed up!

He had work to do. The rain and late arriving parts kept him from practicing his car on Saturday, but if all goes as planned, he will be practicing on Monday evening. I am going whether he wants me to or not! I am the official team photographer!

He and Heavy were in the garage until after midnight on Friday. Heavy's wife was worried because Heavy had their baby, Austin, out with him! I just go to bed anymore. I know Steve was there when I got up, but I couldn't tell ya what time he came in!

I have way too many pictures that I want to post and this thing will only let me do 5, that I've found. I'm going to try while I take my bath and see what happens.

Dirty Mouth

I was getting ready to blog that not much has been going on around here. Steve has been busy with his car, and me and Buzzy have been kind of hanging out. It's been real rainy, so we've tried to stay in.

As soon as I thought that I didn't have anything new to put on, I go into the living room where I find my beautiful boy! I always said that I would never take my child out in public with a dirty face or dirty clothes. Well I didn't say anything about staying home with a child with a dirty mouth, right? He is the best!

Goodies!

Buzzy got his package from Ninnie today. He was soooo excited. He dumped his candy out on the table and could not get over all of his "goodies." He kept asking "why did I get all theses goodies, Look at all my goodies, who sent me these goodies?" He did a little jig and just went on and on about all of his "goodies!" Of course, he had to taste test one of just about everything. When he was finished, he layed in floor, rubbing his belly saying "oh, my bewwy huuts." He is such a stinker. Thank you Ninnie! You made his day!

Which is real?

Banjo is the best pet ever! He has more personality than all of the cats put together. He is so smart too (when he wants to be). He knows that he cannot go into Steve's garage. Steve can leave the door open all day, and Banjo will never step that first foot inside (I'm not saying that Steve hasn't threatened his life, which is a possibility!). He lays just outside the door. He is an excellent walking buddy - except for my girl friends!! Buzzy, Banjo and I had started walking at the trail pretty regular, but since we've been sick and our other walking buddies went to Disney World, we have gotten off schedule. I love this dog. I love my cats too! I just have too many to pick a favorite!

For those of you who are interested, Steve started his car today. He has a perma-smile on his face! Pappy said it was rather impressive when they started it up. Stewart helped him wire it and some other things that are WAY over my head. I just know you gotta put fuel in it and drive it. That's all I need to know. Steve's firesuit came today, so he will probably be taking the car to practice in the next couple of weeks. I will be sure to take pictures of that! After all, that's what I started this blog for! Everybody have a great weekend.!

New Book - It's great!

I started reading a wonderful book today. It's by Dr. Phil's wife. I think he's brilliant, so she can't be too bad herself. Steve and I have an awesome counselor that we have been seeing during Steve's recovery. We both feel comfortable and confident in him. He definitely has our best interests in mind. He is a wonderful man and I truly feel that God sent us to him.

This book that I am reading is about life, of course, and living with passion and purpose. The very first chapter covered some things that have already hit close in my heart. I know that I have been fortunate in this life to have loving, nurturing women in my family. My Mamaw, Dad's mom, passed away when I was a senior in high school, but she always made it known how much she loved her family. The first chapter covers just that. Robin - the author- says that she wants to "be proud of herself because she raised decent children. She does not ever want to live with the regret of knowing she could have tried a little harder to help her children become happy, healthy adults." The following is an excerpt from the book. I just hope and pray that when Buzzy is an adult and has a family of his own, that I can truly say this myself! Enjoy!

From "Inside My Heart" By Robin McGraw

"It's always been important to me to know I was doing the best I could at the time I was doing it, even if my best sometimes wasn't all that good. Both Jay and Jordan (Her children) managed to survive my mothering mishaps, which is a relief to me. I firmly believe that how happy my sons are is a reflection of who I am and how well I did my job. Being a mother is more than a phase in my life; for me, It's a never-ending mission, my calling here on earth. And when the time comes and I'm standing before my heavenly Father, I just want Him to say to me "'Job well done."'

You can look after your children every day, make sure they have clean clothes, and make sure they're at home every night, but there's more to mothering than that. I always wanted my boys to have joy inside of them, that peace and excitement and pride about who they are. I wanted to not only make sure they were physically taken care of but spiritually and emotionally taken care of, too. There are so many responsibilities to parenting, and I always wanted to make sure I'd done everything I could to give them not only the basics they needed to stay alive, but the spirit and enthusiasm to really be alive, to live with passion and gusto and joy.

No one's perfect. My kids aren't perfect and I'm not perfect. We don't agree about everything, and every once in a while one of them will do something that makes me want to ask what in the heck they were thinking. But I can honestly say that I feel confident that I've done everything I'm capable of doing."----------------------

Indoor Smores

Buzzy has been watching a cartoon that shows the characters camping and making Smores. We had a fire a couple weeks ago to burn some limbs and things. Steve and Buzzy went to the grocery to get the ingredients for Smores. Yesterday it was raining and nasty out and Mr. Buzz decided he wanted to make smores. I had a panic moment, but decided the microwave would work! We made a few batches of smores. He would take one or two bites and be ready to "cook" another one! We had a great, messy time!

Tweety Bird

As most everyone knows, we have a parakeet now. Her name is Tweety bird. I got her for Buzzy in June. She's really good company. The house is really quiet when she's not here. NaNA keeps her for us when we have to be gone from home. When we went to Pigeon Forge in September, Nana kept her and we have just gotten her back! NaNa won't admit it, but I think she kinda likes her too! At one time, Steve and I said we would never have another bird. It seems like everytime that I say "I'm never," I do just what I say "I'm never" going to do! Sometimes it's not so bad! I always had animals growing up. I always loved having them, and I want Buzzy to experience all different kinds of pets. Thanks to K and Tommy , he can be around horses. If he ever wants a horse it will have to stay at Mimi and Pappy's. They have much more room! I've tried to talk Steve into a miniature donkey for quite some time now, but he says that will "never" happen! Remember, never say never, Stevie!!

Just a swingin'

Mimi and I took Buzzy to the park in Clifty on the way home from Clarksville on Thursday. He had a blast. If it hadn't been so cold, we would have stayed longer. He wants to go back and have a picnic there. He told us to make sure we have a blanket when we get ready for the picnic!

He played on his new swing set yesterday evening until it got too dark to be out. Banjo had gotten in trouble, so he wasn't bothering us. Let's just say, he is 100% puppy! I will be glad when he is a big dog! Buzzy loves his swing set, but not the dog. He's not played on his swing set much because he doesn't like Banjo. For awhile, he would only go outside when I put Banjo on his leash. As much as Steve and I like dogs, I would have never dreamed that Buzzy would despise them so much. He played out on his swing set most all day today. Banjo has finally figured out that it's more fun to torment the cats and not Buzzy!

I had my second voice lesson today. I am enjoying it a lot more than I ever thought I would! My friend Diane thinks I am ready to sing at church tomorrow, but we'll just have to see. I'm not quite sure I am that confident, yet! Mimi and K gave me good reviews after their preview performance last night! I'm not sure about Mimi, but I know K would tell me if she thought I was terrible! Have a good weekend and enjoy this great fall weather!

The Perfect One

Yesterday, Buzzy told me that he wanted me to stay home with him today. He told me that I am "the perfect girl!" Tonight is the first night that he's not wanted to go to the garage with Steve. He said he was staying with me because I am the perfect girl for him! Where in the world has he heard that? Steve was in here when he told me that and we just smiled at each other. It absolutely made my day! I must say that Buzzy is the perfect boy for us! He has brought so many smiles to our faces. My Mamaw always called Dad her baby. He was the youngest, but she said no matter his age, he would always be her baby. I'm afraid I feel the exact same way about my baby!

A day of Croquet

Buzzy loves to play croquet at Nana and Judy's. We went to visit Nana and Papaw this afternoon and they had the croquet set ready!! Buzzy ran up and down and around and around after those croquet balls! He helped Papaw "hammer" in the end points. He just hammered Papaws finger more than the stick!! I'm sure he and Papaw will sleep good tonight after their afternoon jaunt!

He is in the garage with his Daddy now. Steve takes him down to the garage just about every evening. Buzzy was so tired last night that he fell asleep on the lounge chair, garage dirt and all! He loves working on that race car! I am so thankful that Steve is the kind of dad that wants his son with him all the time. There are so many little boys that don't have that in a father.

Thinking about the important men in Buzzy's life made me think of this quote that I found the other day. Yes Mimi, it came from a scrapbooking magazine, hee hee!

"Fathering is the most masculine thing a man can do."

Design on a Dime

Today has been a long day!! Mimi, Buzzy, and I painted mine and Steve's bedroom. I tried to get started early because I knew Buzzy would want to help. Sure thing! He was a wonderful helper yet again. I don't think I would have ever gotten done if Mimi and Buzzy hadn't been here to help. Steve has been in the garage all day and hasn't seen it yet! He is definately going to be surprised! We might sleep upstairs for awhile so we don't mess it up!! He has gotten his motor in his car. I don't know any details, I just know he has been in the garage ALL day!! He conned Mimi into helping with the painting so he wouldn't have too! What a wonderful mother-in-law!! What about the finished product?

Happy Fall Ya'll!!

Buzzy loves the pumpkins and had a blast helping me decorate the front porch. He's such a good boy and a wonderful helper! He's been waiting for the leaves to fall so he can play in the leaves! It won't be too much longer until he can do that!

One wild birthday!

Happy Birthday Stevie!! Stevie turned 32 today! We had him a little get-together - us three, Mimi, Pappy and Phil- for cake. Buzzy has wanted to blow out candles all day, so Steve let him help. We had to do that before we could eat. Buzzy had to stick his finger in the cake - thanks Uncle Mikey!- and he was happy! Buzzy likes taking a bubble bath and that's what it took to get all the icing off of him! Thanks everyone for the presents for Stevie. He loved everything and really appreciates everyone thinking of him!

Little Racer

As most everyone knows by now, Steve has his car. Buzzy is loving every minute that he gets to be in the garage with "the boys." I tried to get him to come in the house one night when there were a bunch of Steve's buddies down there and Buzzy informed me that he wanted to stay with "the boys." Excuse me! I'm so glad that Steve lets him spend time with him in the garage. It's good for both of them!! We weren't paying attention the other night, and Buzzy had made himself at home in the engine compartment. He was so proud of his trick. I just had to get a picture! Hope you enjoy and if anyone has any extra money laying around please send it to Steve's racing fund!!

Here goes...

I am going to try this out. We'll see how it goes. I am going to try to use this for Steve's racing and updated pictures of Buzzy. Here goes nothing!
