Buzzy has the Elvis bug! I loved Elvis when I was little and Buzzy has inherited it too. I remember getting Elvis movies for Christmas and I had a framed poster hanging in my room for many years. Mom and Dad took me to see an impersonator when I was little while we were vacationing in the mountains. Twenty some years later, he's at the little theatre just down the road. You know I was there! Buzzy loved it!Saturday, February 21, 2009
Viva Vi-ag----I mean Las Vegas!

Henry Update
Henry is doing much better. We went back to the Dr. on Thursday and he got another shot. His ears are still infected, just not as swollen and red. He has to go back again on Monday. Hopefully his ears will be cleared up enough that he won't get another shot! I don't like shots, but these are the good kind. They work so fast.Tuesday, February 17, 2009
Update...
Henry is doing much better today. Dr. Danhauer gave him an antibiotic shot because his ears are not responding to the oral kind. He goes back on Thursday for a check up. He didn't have a fever last night for the first time in a week, so the shot must be working!
On a lighter note, Buzzy has another bird. I say it's his, but I love it too. It's a baby cockatiel and it's name is Tweetsy. He was afraid of her (we don't know if it's a boy or a girl, for sure, but we are calling it "she") at first, but they have warmed up to each other! They like to watch TV together. The bird wants to be on someones shoulder all the time! So much better than the parakeets!Sunday, February 15, 2009
What a Week...
Not only did I have one of the best weekends with my husband, but I came home to two sick kiddos. I took them to the nurse practitioner on Wednesday. Buzzy had bronchitis, Henry two ear infections. Henry continued to run fever, so I took him back to his pediatrician on Friday. We found out that he has RSV, on top of two ear infections. He has been so sick. He has always been a decent sleeper, but for the last 4 nights, that has not been the case. Last night, Steve slept with him in the recliner. When they finally got up, Henry had a 106.3 temperature. I nearly died! I called the dial-a-nurse at the pediatrician's and she sent us straight to the ER! She told me if we had any problems on the way, to stop and call 911! After blood work and chest x-rays, we find out that it's still those ears and that RSV! We have to go back to the pediatrician in the morning. Henry is fussy, but he has smiled a few times this afternoon. I hope that Mr. RSV never comes to visit us again! Or any one for that matter!

Key West Anniversary/Second Honeymoon/Christmas Trip
Steve & I went to Key West over the weekend. We have wanted to go since we were married 8 years ago. We have a few friends that gave us advice on where to stay, what to do and places to eat. We had talked ourselves out of going until a couple weeks ago. We wanted to go and I booked it before I could talk myself out of it again. The boys stayed with MiMi & Pappy and didn't even notice that we were gone! I was worried about Buzzy crying for me at night, but he didn't. The morning that we left, he teared up and said he didn't want me to go. I told him that I would be back with presents and toys. His lip quivered a bit and he said "Oh, Okay then." Presents get him everytime! Here are a few of my favorite pictures.
Steve at Smathers Beach. Yes, he has on a sweatshirt and there are people laying out in the sun behind him! It was upper sixties and windy while we were there. We were on scooters, so it got a little chilly!
Outside of Ernest Hemingways house. There were cats everywhere.
Ernest Hemingways house. It was so pretty. I think I'll be moving there soon!
Our breakfast at the Blue Heaven Restaurant. Yes, we ate almost all of it!
When we got out on Saturday morning, we could hear roosters crowing. Steve said it felt just like home! While we waited to get a seat for breakfast, cats and chickens were running everywhere. After we were seated and waiting for our food, a rooster started crowing. It sounds really close and then I noticed him on top of the lean-to in the corner. After a little crowing, he decided to fly down and walk around the tables, pilfering for food. That's what the menu should have said. Steve had little black specs on his shirt under the AJ's symbol. I asked him what they were from and he said he didn't know. In just a second, he figured it out. When he cut into his pancakes, the blueberries were exploding! You can see the juice on the lefthand side of his shirt!
There were some people on Duval Street with cockatoos, iguana, and a python. I just wanted to hold the bird!
The famous Key West sunset.
We could not get close to this thing in the day. We rode our scooters back at night and didn't have a problem!
Our super-speedy scooters. The only way to get around!
A couple that had just gotten engaged took our picture. We took theirs, they took ours! After the left, Steve said "Poor guy!"

Ice, Ice Baby
The power hadn't been out long and everyone was still having a good time!MiMi & Pappy were the last one's to lose power. Aunhee & Gary lost it first, then NaNa and Papaw, us and then MiMi & Pappy. Steve loaded the generator up the day the storm was supposed to hit, so we were ready. MiMi & Pappy have two gas stoves, so their house was warmer than ours the whole time. Our power came back on Sunday evening, and Mimi and Pappys came on shortly after ours. NaNa, Aunhee & K still don't have power. We have been so so so fortunate. We were warm, fed, and only got a little stinky through all of this. I was never so happy to see running water!
