Where in the World is....Buzz Ashley

Who can guess where Buzzy is.

Weekend Adventure

We went to Reid Orchard in Owensboro over the weekend. I have heard about it for several years, we've just never went. It was almost like a fair! It had rides and that was all that Buzzy was interested in! We went with Regina, Penny, and her little boy Thad #1. Him and Buzzy rode some rides and we ate lunch and played games. It was a really good time and we will probably go back again next year, since we went both days this year!

Buzzy loved the miniature ponies. They were so gentle and let all of those children pet all over them. They also had chickens. When they crowed, Buzzy would get hysterical! He thought it was hilarious!

We found this special little fella inside the pumpkin!

They had a jousting thingy going on ever so often. Buzzy wasn't interested at first, but once they got going, he really got into it. They didn't mess around either! They hit each other hard. They had a story teller lady that told what it meant when they hit each other in certain places. Buzzy would just clap his hands and, as you can see, he was totally into it!

We went back on Sunday with MiMi. She has never been either and I thought she would enjoy it. Buzzy wanted her to see those chickens and to win him ANOTHER bunny. More about that later!!

We had to do the corn maze again. MiMi and Buzzy got lost and just couldn't figure out which way to go!!

Now...the bunny game. This carnival thingy had games set up to drain the pockets of parents. You know the kind. The kind where one in a million dollars wins. Well, Buzzy was convinced that he needed another bunny, so we played, and played, and played, and played, and, do you get the picture here? We played at least a 20 dollar bill worth on Saturday and then he talked Mimi into another one on Sunday. I told her if she won a bunny, it was going to her house or she was buying the bunny hutch. We would NOT be putting any two bunnies in a cage together!! One Thumper is enough! Needless to say, they didn't win a bunny.

On our way home, we had to stop at the pumpkin place. It was either there or Target, and finally he decided on the Pumpkin place. He had his eye on the hay mountain.

So that was exactly where he went! We bought a few pumpkins and finally made it home. Long day, but it was so fun watching the excited Buzzy!

Muddin'

Buzzy is following along into the redneck world he has been born into!! When I went to Mimi's house for lunch yesterday, this is the sight that welcomed me. It had rained a little the night before and, of course, Mr. Buzz could not wait to get into that fish pond and get his tricycle "hung up." I had to get him a rope so he could pull his bike up the side of the pond and then repeatedly drop in back into the mud hole! He had a blast and I know when I was little, I would have done the same thing!

Class Bear

Buzzy got to bring home the class bear on Tuesday. The bear's name is Cinnamon and he was sooo excited that it was his turn to take Cinnamon home! He took Cinnamon to visit NaNa and Papaw, then to Heavy and Regina's and then to Sonic for supper and then Cinnamon got to play in the camper with Buzzy. They went throught the "laundry chute" numerous times! The next day, Buzzy took Cinnamon back to school and got to share what he and Cinnamon did together!
Buzzy also went to his friend Cooper's birthday party. They had a bouncy thing for the kiddos to play in. They all had a really good time and I got to visit with the other parents!

Gramps Hair Stylist

I'm ba-ack!! Finally, yes I know it's been awhile. But I am here and have lots of post to follow!!

Buzzy and Stevie have a friend named Grant that Buzzy has changed to Gramp! He just loves him and his wife Leeann!

Gramp came over to visit tonight while we were at MiMi's and Buzzy just "happened" to get a brush and a comb to work on Gramp's hair.

When he got tired of getting the tangles out of Grant's hair, Buzzy moved onto the beard! He did get a good grip on a "tangle" once and Grant's eyes got a little big and we all giggled!

Fish Lake

MiMi's fish pond is finally taking shape! Pappy and Stevie spent Friday evening and most of Saturday working on it! MiMi is so excited and the pond is going to be so pretty when they get it going.

MiMi is so proud of Stevie in this picture! She said that Pappy has taught Stevie well, because for once, Pappy is doing the work and Stevie is watching! Usually Pappy is watching and giving orders while someone else does the hard work!

Big Bucket, Little Boy!

Pumpkin Carving

Pumpkin carving didn't go quite as expected. Buzzy has been gung-ho since we bought the pumpkins on Friday. He was all about punching holes in it and rolling it around.

Then he saw what was inside of the pumpkin! Story changed!

This was the look I got when I asked if he would help me scoop the yuck out.

Fishing with Pappy

I just like this picture. Looks peaceful, but when these two are together, it's usually anything but peaceful!

Race Pics...finally!

What was left of the car after the little altercation on the track.

Pappy can't be trusted around the women! He loves to visit with Ninnie and Jerre and they seem to enjoy him too! Look at that Ninnie, just a rubbin' on Pappy's belly!! Maybe that's why they look like they are having such a good time!

I have so many good pictures from the last race to share. I just have to steal them from MiMi's camera. Hopefully I will get those up this weekend. Have a great weekend, my friends!

More Fall Festival Pics

Busy Saturday!

He played.

He fished.

He socialized.

He partied.
He returned to do it again!

Fall Festival at GRCC came again Saturday. Buzzy has looked forward to this day since the day after last years! We were there when it opened at 12 and stayed until 2. He was invited to a birthday party for on one of his classmates at 2. We stayed there until about 3:45 and then went back to the fall festival until about 5:15. He had the BEST time. I finally got tired of chasing him and Chandler around and found a good spot to watch from! Those kids move fast! He had a ball at the birthday party too! We had supper with Grant and LeeAnn and he was ready for bed when we got home! We were all tired, but we had the best time all day!

F is for Fire

The Central City Fire Dept. came to see the little ones on Thursday.Buzzy was so excited and of course, I was the dorky momma and went to take pictures while they were outside looking at it! Buzzy missed school on Monday and Tuesday, because of a little stomach bug, but did NOT want to miss the fire truck. That was such a great motivator for medicine time. No medicine and you won't feel good enough to go see the fire truck.

This week they studied the letter "F" and learned about fire safety. He had to show us how to "Stop, Drop, & Roll" if our pants ever catch on fire! He is quite good at it! Wednesday when he got home from school, he asked me if we had sprinklers at the mill. I said no, and he was sure that's why we had the fire! He is getting to smart! If Uncle Mikey needs an assistant, I think I might have the perfect one!

Walkin' the Wabbit

What are things that most people take for a walk?

A dog - yes.
A friend - yes.
A cat - rarely, but I have seen it done.
A rabbit - um, well, no!

That is unless you live at the Ashley household, just off Cleaton Road aka Wolf Creek Estates. We walk wabbits here. Poor little thumper was so out of breath and hot by the time we got him in the house. He's like the rest of the family; he likes A/C and he's not used to exercise!! He did like the outdoors though. It got old with Buzzy. He claimed that the wabbit was "dragging" him around the yard. I'll let the reader decide if he was stretching that one a bit!

Buzzy and I went to the Build-A-Bear store the other day. The lady made small talk with Buzzy while she filled his critter and she just happened to ask if he had any animals at home. He enthusiastically answered "Oh yeah, my family lives in the Dolittle house." I've decided to change my name to Ellie Mae Dolittle! A little Beverly Hillbilly, a little crazy animal person. Sounds fitting, huh?

Quote challenge for Brandy

Brandy thinks she funny making these little challenges! I kind of enjoy it myself! We get a newsletter type fax every morning from our insurance agent and this was the one for today. I liked it.

PF recap

We had so much fun at Pigeon Forge this past weekend. Mimi and Pappy had been there for over a week. LeeAnn, Buzzy, and I went on Thursday when she was done as work. Grant and Steve came down after the race on Friday night. They didn't get to the room until about 3:00am central time on Saturday morning. LeeAnn and I shopped our little feet off and Buzzy played every putt-putt golf he could get us to play. This picture is from our last round. He got to ride a train to the first hole. He was so excited that he got to ride a roller coaster AND play golf! He just could not believe how lucky he was!

Of course, what would a trip to the mountains be without a trip to the scrapbook store? Mimi has finally decided to give it a try, so I hooked her up with some basic supplies, and as you can see, she was ECSTATIC! Buzzy was too! Such smarty's! She'll see how fun it is, if she'll EVER give it a try!

We were traveling with a pair of Harley-Davidson people, so when LeeAnn went to get their shirts at the HD store, I got us some too. Mine was a special one. It was a regular t-shirt with sewn in panty hose type sleeves. The sleeves were colored up like tattooes and they look real! Dad did a double take and informed me that it was nasty and Buzzy wanted to know how I got them on there. Steve and Grant walked back behind me when we walked the street that night and were almost crying at how funny people reacted to the tattooed girl! They heard a lot of - Did you see that, oh my gosh, i've seen it all - you know, expressions like that! I was pushing Buzzy in his stroller, and he got quite a few sympathetic looks. Poor kid - look at his momma and his name is Buzzy!! Behind my ears hurt when we got to the room from laughing so hard. The shirt was worth every overpriced penny! Dad's reaction alone made it worth the money!

I cannot believe that he is old enough to drive a go-cart by himself. Can't talk about it anymore. I'll tear up.
We got to visit with Uncle Mikey, Sandye and Jana. Buzzy sure likes that Uncle Mikey! I wish he could have seen Buzzy in that go-cart. I know he would have been beaming with pride! Pappy would have too, especially when he passed the 29!!

Weekend Recap

I have SOOOOOO many pictures to share and a challenge from my friend Brandy. I will be working on it all this afternoon! Be patient! I have work stuff to do and I have to go get Buzzard from school, but I am going to get back into the swing of blogging, I promise!

What was I thinking?

Old hair

New Hair - not fixed

New Hair - fixed **Reminds me of the flying nun!!**

Oh, Hoppy Day!

Just call us the Dolittle family! We have another member in the family now. This is Thumper. He is a lionhead bunny and such a sweet little feller! We got him Friday night. Buzzy told me on Thursday that he wanted a bunny. I told him that he would have to talk to Papa Steve about that when he saw him on Friday. So he did and Papa Steve sent Buzzy, Ninnie, Grandmutter and me to the pet store to get a bunny. He bought the bunny and momma got the cage! Poor thing had to hang out in the back of the truck until the race was over and I'm sure that was quite a shock to the little critter!

Yesterday, Buzzy and I had to go and find some different bedding for him. His fur is so long and soft and the stuff I use for the hamster was just matting up in his fur and I could not stand that. While we were out, Buzzy found a bunny leash and just HAD to have it! When we put it on him, he freezes! Take it off and he likes to explore the surroundings! Sissy - the spoiled cat - HATES him! She acts like a spoiled little kid! I must say that I think the bunny is better for Buzzy than the hamster. He is afraid the hamster will bite him, but this bunny is so laid back and friendly, he's not scared of it at all. He just doesn't want to hold him yet. Stevie - on the other hand - says he's "allergic." It's funny how he's "allergic" to any pet he doesn't want to mess with!

First Day of Pre-School

He loves pre-school! This was when I let him out on Wednesday.

This was the "bye momma" wave. He's getting to be too big!

This was when I picked him up. Look at the confindence!! He is walking with his teacher Mrs. Sabrina and that's Mrs. Pam in the background. He was so excited and told me all about going outside and the new friend that he made. Wednesday was our day to take snacks and he was so excited that they had snacktime with his snacks.

Pre-School Orientation

Not much excitement for the orientation. The teacher went over the parent handbook and as she did so, Buzzy tapped my arm and whispered "This is boring." I'm afraid that is going to be the opinion of pre-school. I hope not, but he's more into building and engineering than academics! Takes after his momma and daddy! Maybe tomorrow will be more eventful!
