Practice #1

Practice went good today. If anyone wants more in-depth details, you will have to talk to Stevie. He told me that he was happy with the way his car ran, and that was a good enough answer for me! Technicalities about race cars are WAY over this blond head!! Those of you that need more than a "yeah, it ran pretty good," need to consult the driver!

Just wanted to post a couple pics. We are beat. Stevie was up until the wee hours last night and up early this morning. My eyeballs are about to fall out because they are itching sooooooo bad from all the yuck floating in the air. Buzzy is so tired, he has retired to his room without a fight and has not made a noise since he's been there - other than requesting a drink. Happy weekend!

What race car? I have a kite! Now that's special!!

The "Crew". Look pretty tough, huh?

"You run 50 laps your way, and then we gonna run 50 laps my way." Which one is making that statement?

Could someone help this guy figure out which way to go!

He got it figured out!!

Buzzy's Friend

Chandler is Buzzy's favorite friend. They have so much fun together and get along so well. She is Chandra's niece. She sits in front of us at church and she and Buzzy always have a good time. She sits with us or he sits with them and they color and draw and eat. He is always wanting to go to Chandler's house. She has a basement full of toys and it's just heavenly to him. She came over with her Daddy on Monday. Since it's gotten warm, her and Buzzy can play outside while their Daddy's do their racing things! They had stopped by the mill before they came to our house and Mimi had sent pudding cups for her and Buzzy. They had their snack in the garage and then came storming through my front door, ready for some swinging!

Still here....

Just wanted to post to let those concerned know that we are still alive and well. I have gotten a couple "why aren't you posting?" questions, so this is for you. You know who you are!!

Buzzy had strep throat last week and now has a wonderfully runny nose! Thought that those tubes were going to solve all of our sickness problems, but well.

The weather here has been spectacular! Almost a little too hot, a little too soon, but can't you always find something to complain about? Buzzy was a great helper again this weekend. We pine-needled the front flower bed on Saturday. Thanks to Daddy, we had a great supply of pine needles at our convenience!

I must now go and do my most un-favorite thing in the world...clean this house that is beginning to look like we do actually live on Cleaton Road! Once it's clean, we will be back at 211 Wolf Creek Estates!! After that and the child is good and awake and fed, more yard work!! Steve will be soooo happy to gather more pine needles! HEE HEE!

Signs of Spring

You know the weather is getting warm when Buzz-Wuz starts peeling off the clothes!! He helped Mimi wash her truck today. She said that he insisted on filling up his swimming pool too, only to shiver all over when he stuck a foot in. Needless to say, the pool didn't last long!!
He has been taking advantage of the warm weather. He wants to be out all day and then he sleeps so good at night!! We are all ready for warm weather. That means flowers for me and racing for Stevie!! His car is painted and it looks really good. Red and white. Not sure what kind of decals he's putting on it yet, but when it's all done, I'll post a picture of it!
Have a good week, and cross your fingers for the weather to stay awhile!!

Ear Report

Just wanted to let everyone know that the ear procedure went great. Buzzy did not shed one tear and was a perfect gentleman the whole time we were there. They ended up doing just the tubes in his ears. The adnoids were fine. He got to leave his pajamas on the whole time. That was good since he made it clear to me and the nurse that he was not putting on a gown!! He was quite the comic after they gave him the "don't care" medicine! He kind of reminded me of his Daddy when he used to drink his "feel good" beverages!!!

He went into surgery about 10:10am and was back in the room with us by about 10:40. We were in the truck and on our way home just a few minutes after 11:00! Steve and I stopped to get something to eat at Steak N Shake. We sat in the truck so Buzzy woudn't have to get out. Buzzy didn't want anything when we ordered, but before we were back on the road, he was finishing off my french fries, eating chicken strips, and watching Stuart Little! He came home and had a good nap, and he's been wide open all evening.

We went to supper at Huddle House and he ate almost his whole waffle and all but just a few crumbs of his bacon! He's been telling me that everything is too loud this afternoon! The Dr. said that he would be hearing much better now. She said he had lots of fluid behind his eardrums that had an egg-yolkish consistency.

We're so glad that everything went well and our little one is, hopefully, going to be ear infection free for awhile!!

Artist Jr.

The picture says it all! He is into scrapbooking, painting, and making any kind of craft! He loves childrens church because of the crafts. I think he's a great artist!!!

An Artist is Born

We had a little visitor yesterday. "That Baby" came and stayed with us yesterday. Buzzy has finally learned her name and called her Amberwynn all day! I must say, two little ones was quite a difference than one. Buzzy's only child syndrome was obvious!! He just wasn't accustomed to another little one being here when he got up and playing with his stuff. He could handle her playing with his stuff, but his pillow was another story!! He is ATTACHED to that pillow and did not want her near it and, of course, she wanted HIS pillow. I even got her a cute animal one off of his bed. Nope, she wanted his!! Their visit went well, I just needed a whistle and a black and white referree shirt from time to time!! I am so upset, because my batteries for my camera were dead and I didn't get one picture of them all day. It didn't help that I was painting most of the time too=)!!

I am LUVIN' this painting stuff. I have gone paint crazy. I like it maybe a smidget better than scrapbooking - Sorry K & Carol! I still am going to scrapbook, I just am going to save it for when i get together with my scissor sisters. Our church is supposed to be having a Scrapbook Day one Saturday a month, so I will get bunches done on those days...hopefully!

Mom and I saw a brush box at our class the other night. They make them in the more advanced classes, so we were all about finding a box to paint for our brushes. Well...of course, they don't make the boxes anymore. I found these cute little remote holders at Hobby Lobby. They have a lazy suzanne on the bottom and I called it a brush box!! I painted one for myself (see below) and was so excited that I painted Mom's for her too. Her's turned out much better than mine. The more I practice the better I get. I know by the end of my beginner class, I will definately be having stuff published in art magazines!!! Doesn't hurt to dream!!

This was the very first thing that I painted after my first class. I am going to redo Buzz Ashley's bathroom. I have already hung his new shower curtain and he has a cute little lion rug. I painted these little pics to hang over his potty. I was really proud of them. IF I get really confident, I am going to paint a giraffe on his wall. Notice the "if" is in all caps!!!

This is my little brush box. It's okay, but I like Mom's a lot better. I might have to redo it. I think it would also work good for scrapbook stuff.

Like I said, I am LUVIN' this painting. We are doing bird houses this week and next week, we are painting on ceramic tiles. I will post all my projects!!

Almost ready to... Start HIS Engine!!!

Steve was anxious for the weather to break. He was ready to get his car painted, but the weather has not been cooperating. Steve, Heavy, and Austin worked several nights last week getting the care ready. They started around 8:00 Saturday morning and Steve got in the bed around 1:00 am Sunday morning. There were three sleepy looking guys at church on Sunday, but they got done what they wanted to get done! We went to the Big Shop to see the car, but they already had it loaded and ready to come back to the house. Buzzy posed for me to get a picture. I'll post another picture when Stevie gets the car completely ready.

Mom and I have started taking painting classes from Heavy's wife, Regina. She is a nut and we are having a great time!! The three of us went to Evansville last week and hit all the craft stores and of course ate a really yummy lunch at Schilers BBQ! Saturday night while Steve and Regina's guys were painting the car, Buzzy and I went and hung out with Regina for awhile. We started our classes last week and learned the basics. Tonight was our second lesson and this is my finished product!! It's not perfect, but it's way better than I ever thought I could do!! It's really fun and I already can't wait until next week! Everyone will probably be getting painted stuff for every holiday and birthday!! Get ready, start clearing out some space!!!

Dentist Visit

Needless to say, this isn't a face I have seen much of today. Buzzy went to the dentist this morning for a filling and a cap. He did great. He was not happy about having to get straight out of the bed, get his clothes on, and not getting to have breakfast. To say the least, he was p****d. All the way to Madisonville, he asked if I had a bag of food. (I always take snacks when we go anywhere.)

He did absolutely great. I had no idea how he would do, but he floored me. I couldn't believe how cooperative he was. They thought he was about 5 years old from his size, but they said the way he acted, that he could have been 6! That made me so proud! I really forget sometimes that he is a boy, and he will act accordingly, but overall, we are truly blessed with a little gentleman!

I have felt the urge from time to time to put him back in his "cage!" He hollered for me the other day to save him. I don't know why, but he loves playing with his old crib. I keep it under our bed and he is constantly dragging it out to make a "pallet machine." He got it out and made himself a gate going into my bedroom and he was so proud of himself! He was supposed to have a friend come over today to stay, but I had forgotten about his dentist appointment, so she will have to come another day. Amberlynn, his friend, will be 3 in March, and he calls her "that baby." He was getting the baby bed ready for her and he wanted to go buy baby toys too! He is too sweet

Snow Day

This is when Buzzy first fell off his sled. He didn't know what to think of his snowy mittens.

He loved the snow coming up on the front of his sled. He couldn't get it off fast enough. I later used this snow to throw snow balls at Steve and Buzzy riding on the Rhino! It was rather tricky but by the time I was off the sled, I had gotten the throw down!

Steve helped Buzzy with his sledding and then tried it out for himself. We both agreed that it wasn't near as fun as it used to be, for us anyway. I think playing in the snow perked Buzzy up. He was bright eyed as soon as he realized that there was snow on the ground! There was no way that I could keep him from the snow, since he's never got to play in real snow before. This is the best snow that we have had since Buzzy came into the world.

Best Husband Award

The award goes to Stevie! He got me red roses for our Anniversary and pink roses for Valentine's day! I have to tell a funny story on him. The day before Valentine's day, Steve and Glenda sent me pink tulips. Thanks so nice of you all!! Steve came in from lunch, saw the tulips, made maybe two steps across my office, snatched the card to see who it was from. He was relieved to see that it was from his parents!! He couldn't figure out who would send "Leslie Brewer" flowers. He told me that if he had gotten back before me, he was going to white-out his mom's name, then they would have looked like they were from him!! He went ahead and sent me the pink ones on Valentine's Day. I told him a week or so ago that pink roses were my favorite and he remembered. Definately Best Husband material!!

It snowed a couple of inches last night. It is so pretty. Buzzy isn't up yet, but I know he's going to want to go out. He has ear problems again. He has fever this morning so I don't think playing in the snow is the best idea. He will be heartbroken. He just layed around all day yesterday, so I knew he wasn't feeling too good. When I come home at lunch and he's laying on the couch, covered up, I know that he doesn't feel good.

We have been watching SPEED all week. We are ready for the racing to get going!! We've been ready since the last one last year! Sunday afternoons just aren't the same without the sound of race cars when we wake up from our nap!!

Snow babies

Buzzy wants it to snow so bad. He had to play in what little snow we got last weekend. Eventhough is was about 15 degrees outside, he had a blast. Daddy was voted into being his snow buddy. Buzzy wasn't cold but Steve just stood and watched. Funny how things get when we get older huh? When we were younger, we would have been out on the 4 wheelers, but now we just want to stay in by the fireplace!!

Banjo liked the snow too. He threw his little squeaky toy all over the place! It was the first time that he's seen snow. We got him a dog house, but it took a couple days for him to try it out. I tried letting him in the garage with Shorty, but that was a bad idea. Buzzy also has gotten a hamster. I'm not so sure about this thing. It stinks!! I thought the bird was messy too, but I think the hamster has it beat. It takes it's seed up into it's exercise wheel. It's plastic and enclosed, so all night we get to listen to a pea-gravel-in-a-bucket like sound. I got up the other morning and there were rubber bands all over the wheel. Upon closer inspection, my husband had fixed it to where the wheel wouldn't spin. I'm thinking maybe NaNA might want to animal sit this one too........The hamster's name is Stuart Little. Buzzy is quick to correct you. It's not Stuart..it's Stuart Little. Have to have both names. Very important!!

Thanks everybody for the Valentine's stuff. Thank goodness Buzzy doesn't get sugar highs!! We are going to try out his movie book when we go to bed tonight. I'm sure we will have to watch it on the ceiling!!

Rocky Buzz-boa

What happens when a 32 year old bullies his 3 year old? The 3 year old fights back!! Buzzy let Daddy know just who was in charge the other night when he "dotted" Steve's "eye!" When Steve comes home from work, Buzzy turns into a wild child. They wrestle and box and hit and punch. I was giving Buzzy a little help the other night, and Steve didn't have enough hands to control both of us. He had one of my hands and one of Buzzy's. Buzzy used his free hand and.....well, you see the results!! Steve reminded me of a cartoon character that has little blue birds flying around it's head. He was rather stunned for a second. I laughed and laughed and cried! It was hilarious!! I'm just glad it was Steve and not me! No one would ever believe that Buzzy had hit me!! Steve would be in major trouble!!

Busy Bees

What does a Mimi, a Granny, and a Buzzy have in common? Besides being family, being funny, and loving each other, they also LOVE the Busy Bees game!! Today when I came home for lunch, Buzzy had Aunhee hostage in his room playing his racing game on his TV. When he couldn't get her to come back in his room after she was finished with lunch, he brought the games to us!! He brought his Busy Bee game and Mimi and Aunhee's sisterly instincts kicked in and they had to see who could beat who. Aunhee was getting her rear kicked until Buzzy came in and started helping! Mimi quickly caught up to Aunhee because Buzzy doesn't quite understand the concept that you DON'T want the bees to fall out. He thinks the more bees, the better! He was cracking up and squealing when the bees fell out. He loved it!!
Buzzy went to stay with NaNa and Papaw tonight while Steve and I went to eat with the people he raced with this past year. They had an Appreciation Dinner for the people that helped with the car. We had a good time. Had prime rib and a slide show from the year. It was really good! Buzzy was so excited to visit with NaNa and Papaw. I don't think Tweety was happy to see me. She kind of grinded her beak at me! I think Buzzy kept the greats extra busy. They looked a little tired when we picked him up. I asked him what he had for supper and he said "tiny corndogs." He was amazed with the "tiny corndogs!" He's a nut.
He goes back to the Dr. on Thursday to see if his ears are clearing up okay. He still is a little pale with dark eyes. I hope the ears are better. We will just have to wait and see Thursday. He and Steve spent the afternoon on one of the loaders. They came by the office window to wave at me! Buzzy loves that mill. He told a man today that he was going to be a conveyor man when he grows up! He will make a good one, for sure!!

Volleyball

Steve and I have been "practicing" volleyball. We practiced last night and I got lot's of practice using my whiniest voice as well. I forgot that when I played in High School that I was much more active in athletics and a little lighter and a little younger. We are both sore. Steve is still using the stiff back excuse! I got stung on the wrist yesterday before we went to our first practice, so not only are my wrists sore from volleyball, it's also sore from a wasp sting. Steve is sitting on the couch right now telling Buzzy that he's going to be sore tomorrow. He said " I'm going to be sore tomorrow, I can feel it." He was sweating like I havn't seen him sweat in quite some time tonight and I asked him why. He said he was playing for two people! How RUDE!! I have played beside him everytime and he picks up my slack. Such a good husband!! Our first real game is Sunday, if we are able to move!!

Happy New Year!!!

We had a really fun New Year's Weekend. Kara, her Mom Carol and her aunt Susie came over and we scrapbooked all day on Saturday. Steve was in charge of Buzzy. Steve injured his back throwing Buzzy into the chip pile at the mill. He was pretty pathetic all day and got NO sympathy from me!! Tommy came over and was a great fill-in dad. He played with Buzzy while Steve stiffly sat on the couch! It was rather hilarious!!

He is much better now. So much better Sunday, in fact, that he went four wheeler riding with us! First thing, Pappy ran him through a deep mud hole and Stevie was stuck! You should see a stiff back trying to easily shake the Rhino loose! Hee hee! He decided that activity would be better than sitting on the couch all day. We had a blast riding. Buzzy loved it. We haven't rode in forever and we definately will be riding more regularly!

We went to Jason and Chasity's that night. There were 11 or 12 couples with all their kids. I think there were 14 kids, if I'm counting right. We had a great time eating and playing games. The guys were on top of all the games. They cheated from time to time, but we all know that cheaters never win!! We watched the ball drop from the door. We were exhausted. Buzzy climbed in my lap and was sound asleep at about 11:45. We rang in the New Year right all weekend long! With great friends and family!! Happy New Year everyone!!!

Favortie Toy from HOHO

This is Buzzy's favorite toy. We have built and rebuilt this marble game bunches of times. He has built marble games since he was little bitty. It started with his red Buzzy chair and a quilt. He would cover his chair with the quilt and roll the marble down the quilt. He spied a real marble game in a toy book and that's all we have heard about! Every present he opened he would say "maybe its a marble game." The last present he opened at Mimi's was the famous "Quadrilla Marble Game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" He sqealed and sqealed and had to show it to everyone! Another one of those magical Christmas moments.

Since Buzzy enjoyed opening presents so much, I had a brainstorm for conning him into doing #2 on the potty. I thought maybe we would have Potty Presents. This morning was the first attempt at using the Potty Presents. He came in to tell me that he needed a diaper. I told him that he had presents to open if he would use the potty. He told me that he wanted to save the presents.

Me: are you sure you don't want to open the presents

Buzz: NO

Me: they are wrapped in real pretty blue paper with white ribbon

Buzz: No I want to save them

Me: You don't want to open more presents?

Buzz: No I opened plenty.

I went to get the diaper. Mission failed.

Pictures for Previous Post

Christmas Eve. He was way too tired to wait for more presents.

Before going in to see Charlotte's Web.

Buzzy and I waiting for the movie to start!!
