Bathing Beauties

I took Buzzy and Chandler to the Greevville pool on Monday. Buzzy had his little heart set on swimming lessons, but we waited too late in the summer to try to sign up. We went to the park first and had a picnic. We had ham sandwiches and chocolate chip cookies. Chandler is Buzzy's favorite friend. He loves her! He was so excited when I told him that she was going to go swimming with us!

They played in the big pool most of the time, but I was always with them, so the only good pictures I got of them was when they were in the kiddie pool! They had shark fights and for some reason, those sharks kept getting after my toes!! The pool had a ten minute pool check, 10 minutes before each hour. We used that ten minutes to go get hot at the park, have a cookie break, and then head back to the pool. Chandler had Buzzy floating out away from the ladder and she even talked him into taking his life jacket off! I was so proud. I think she should be a swimming instructor at the age of 6!! I think he really needed a friend around his age to help with the water confidence. He was doing so good by the time we left. He got whiney - the HUGE difference between the 4 and 6 year olds - but promised that he wasn't tired, but......

this was the look before we even got to Chandler's house!! He was beat. She thought it was funny when I reminded her that he wasn't sleepy!! It was such a fun day! I only wish that we had started it sooner. She starts school on Thursday. Buzzy won't have a swimming friend, just Momma. I hope I will do!

Back from the Mountains

We are back from the mountains. We had such a good time and this is the first time, that I can recall, that if Steve didn't have things to do, we all would have wanted to stay longer. The weather was nice. It rained off and on, but it wasn't too hot and our room rocked!!!!! I told Steve I wanted to buy a retirement home there....now!!!

Buzzy was out of control excited. Poor Austin! He's the "big" guy that Buzzy loves, wants to do EVERYTHING with, wants his entire attention, all the time!! I think Austin was thrilled when him and his parents went to do their own thing!!

We played miniature golf EVERYDAY!! We played Hillbilly Golf, Fantasy Golf and Davy Crockett twice. We visited the Nascar speedpark on our way out and found out quickly that we should have went there before we were headed home. There was so much to do and not enough time to do it in!

Buzzy found the #24 parking spot and had to have his picture taken with it! Anytime he sees a Jeff Gordon anything or a "Dearnhardt" anything he squeals for us to look. He gets so darn excited. If he sees a 24 ANYWHERE, he tells us. A price tag, a sign, a billboard...anything! He is so excited about numbers right now and it's so cool! He wants to change stevie's 28 to a 24!

He wanted to do the trampoline thingy at the go cart track. We could not believe it! He never wants to do anything like that, so we figured he would back out before he did it, but no. The girl had him doing front and back flips! He loved it and cracked up the whole time!!

It took us forever to get home. We got stuck in a wreck on I40 and had to take the backroads to I65. Had to stop by the race track in BG to get tires and then onto Russellville for race car parts. I won't be seeing Stevie much between now and Friday. Got to get that car ready.

For those that don't know, he did AWESOME last Friday. Qualified 6th. The field was inverted 6 deep, so he started on the pole. Had about a 4 or 5 car lenghth lead until first caution. On the restart, fell back to about 5 or 6. Made his way back to 2nd with 3 laps to go and was wrecked going across the finish line. Ended up finishing 4th. It was so great and my video ran out with three laps to go. The most exciting of the ENTIRE race. Story of my life!

Let's Just say.....Disaster

After a late start - thanks to me-, a traffic jam, and a shady host at the barn, Kara, Carol, Susie, Diane, and I (and the other 5 women that we didn't know)had a disastrous Scrapbook Retreat. That's not mentioning the building inspector or deputy that came and condemned the building about 30 minutes after we arrived. We weren't complaining! They were definately guardian angels sent to protect us! Driving back home didn't bother me. If we hadn't been so far, I would have went home anyway. We had driven about 3 1/2 or 4 hours. There was a group of 3 that had driven 3 hours, and the other two were from Indianapolis. They said it was about 45 minutes.

Anyway...when we arrived, the man was in a great hurry to get us unloaded and our cars moved. He was taking the cars and parking them at a different location. Of course I had to be hard to get along with, as usual. I told him that I wanted my truck where I could get to my phone charger, which was the truth. THat's the only charger I have for my phone. He was insistent that I keep my truck on the little road directly behind the barn. Of course I didn't listen and I parked beside it. When I came up the porch on the back, through the garbage, to the front door, that was locked, I just felt a little uneasy. I went upstairs to Kara and told her that something wasn't right. We talked a little and she went downstairs to wash her hands and came right back up. She had a funny look on her face and informed me that the police were downstairs.

In just a few minutes, the door opened and in came the deputy, building inspector, and another lady from the county planning something or other. THey informed us that the building was not safe and that we needed to get loaded and out ASAP. I was wanting to dance and sing! Come to find out, this dude's barn had been condemned before and he had opened it back up, without permission, one other time before. He was in deep poopy! He had hid his red paper that said the building was condemned, but he had hung up another red paper saying that the retreat had been moved. We left and went the wrong way, but when we drove back by, they had strung the yellow, Do Not Cross, tape around the front of the building. They told us that the man and his wife had divorced and she was the one that started the retreat. He has it now and he was running it in the ground. That said he was a shady character and if he tried to contact any of us, to have NOTHING to do with him. Is that a guardian angel or what???

I ended up going to Bowling Green and got to the track just a few laps before Stevie went onto the track. Barely made it, but I was sooooo glad to see my boys! We went to the park on Saturday and it was soooo HOT. Buzzy still isn't 100% from his mono. We rested on Sunday. We all needed it. Today is Aunty K's birthday!!! She's FINALLY 27! Old fart!

What did you do on the 4th?

We went to Heavy & Regina's . I'm not sure who Steve went to play with. He played video games with Austin and had water wars with Austin, so I think he went to play with Austin!! It was just a small get together-us, them and the Clardy's. They have a son named Thad and they call him Thad. Buzzy was amazed. He told them that he is Buzzy, but his name is Steven Thad too!

Steve dunked Buzzy as soon as he got in the pool, so he was done playing with Daddy for the Day. He stood on the side and watched the water wars. He liked playing on the ladder and squirtting from the side of the pool. He would swim with me, but he would panick from time to time and have to get back out. By the end of the day, he was sitting on the ladder all by himself. He will get better. He just does not like getting his head wet!!

Firework time brought the silliness out in Stevie. He had to model Austin's hat and sunglasses. We went up to the hill on the other side of the lake. My cousin Carla had invited several of her friends and with our group of heathens, we had quite a crowd! Carla had a campfire and food and sparklers, and glow sticks and the little ones had a blast playing. We felt like we kind of crashed their party, but we tried to stay to ourselves! We had a great view of the fireworks and they were far enough away that the boom wasn't too bad on the ears.

Buzzy is still amazed with fireworks - that is as long as they aren't too loud! He was all about some sparklers. After the "real" fireworks, we all went back to the house for our fireworks. Buzzy was running a little fever and had a runny nose, so he watched about half of the show and decided to retire to SpongeBob. He and Mimi called it a night and headed for the couch! He had some Tylenol and went to bed. Feeling a little grouchy this morning, but he may be hungover from all the excitement from yesterday!
This is the group picture of the male heathens. The women were safe in the back of Tommy's truck. The men headed to the "front row" of the clearing for the firework display. That is (from the left) Austin, Buzzy, Stevie, Heavy, Pap, Grant, and Tommy. The women are in the truck straight behind. What a group and what a time had!!

Red Neck Country Club

You might be a redneck if.....
This is the infamous fish pond that K and Tommy have been working on for a year now. Stevie dug it for her last year about this time. Up until this spring, she had a hole in her yard with a fair amount of water in it. She was on Steve's butt until he dug it, so every time he saw her he would ask about the pond. He threatened to fill it back in if she didn't get it going. Buzzy and I went down there a couple weeks ago and they were running the wiring for it. Buzzy wanted to play in the dirt, so she promised that she would let us know when she worked on it again. She called Saturday morning to say they were laying rocks around the edges and she just knew that Buzzy would want to help. It was hot and he started out fully clothed, then went down to the shorts and shoes, then to underwear and shoes, and finally, that's right, nothing and shoes. K kept telling him to get in, but he wouldn't, so she did a flip off the side and that was it. He was in! He loved it! He played in the waterfall and squealed and told K that she was going to have to change her water, because he peed in it! Thank goodness I was already out!!

Tommy put the sprinkler out for Buzzy, and of course, he had to get out his umbrella. The kid had wet hair and NO clothes on, but he could not stand for that sprinkler water to get on his head! Just before we left a little rain cloud blew up and -while in the pond- he had to have his umbrella. You guessed it, can't get that head wet! What is it with men and their hair?

YEP!

He loves me!
This is from his 4 year old photo shoot! Brandy told me I could put this on here. She is going to be SO famous! She's already got a good start.
Buzzy went swimming in a Red Neck Swimming Pool over the weekend and I can't wait to get the pictures. It was so funny! Have a great week everyone!

TGIF

We made it! We made it through this week without threatening to file for divorce, yelling, fighting, or crying (Saturday evening doesn't count.). We are on the road to recovery! We are truly new and improving! Eventhough we are sick from our incident, we are excited about rebuilding and "improving" on what we already had going. Thanks to everyone that helped us out this week. Whether by babysitting!!!!!!!!!, moral supporting, offering to help clean up, set up, or tear down. We really appreciated the help and support we have gotten from everyone. Two VERY nice ladies from the bank showed up on Tuesday with groceries for the kitchen! That was so nice and I would have never expected that! In times like this, we truly realize how blessed we are. So many great friends, family, employees, customers, and other people that we do business with. We will never be able to express how thankful we are for each and every person that took the time to just let us know that they were thinking about us. To everyone that reads this, THANK YOU!!!

I love it when.....

I scare Steve!!! It's the best feeling in the world to actually startle him!! Everyone knows he is sooooooooooo laid back and scaring him or getting him startled is nearly impossible! We are beat. It has been go, go, go since Saturday and we are so darn tired it has gotten to the silly tired with me. Steve and I were at the new and improved office until 9:45 tonight and I had to go by Mimi's since Buzzy thinks he's moved in with them. He's going to have a sleep over with me and Steve tomorrow night. (A sleepover - at his own home. Somethings not right here.) He has been staying with them since Saturday and he loves it. I miss him at night, but he was at the office just about all day, so we ARE still seeing him, he's just sleeping at Mimi's. Anyway.......when I got home Stevie was in the shower, so I came to check email and all that fun stuff. I didn't turn the lights on or anything, just out here on the porch being quiet. When he got out of the shower, he came out on the porch and I sat quietly watching. He cupped his hands and smushed his face against the sliding door to see if my truck was in the driveway. He just stood there looking out like he was having a hard time seeing my truck so....I decided to scream! Lightening speed turn and a" Huh, what?" I have never heard "Huh,what?" I was beside myself with laughter. He didn't see the humor, which made it funnier. I know this is one of those "you just had to be there" stories, but, gosh, it was just hilarious!! He'll get me back and I won't tell anyone, because it stinks when he scares me. But it's AWESOME when I get him!! Hee hee!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Went to the Muhlenberg County Fair on Thursday. Buzzy rode with Aunt K, until she had to go do some work for the Fair and then Momma was cool again! I remember when I was little that everyone else was cool but my own parents. Now, I can see their coolness!!

He played games. We bought lots of tickets for rides and all he wanted to do was play games. He won two SpongeBob pictures, a stuffed puppy, stuffed frog and a REAL goldfish that is still living! They never lived that long for me!! He emptied his daddy's pockets. Those games are pricey!!

Friday night was race night. Steve was happy with his new motor. He qualified 7th, number six was disqualified, so Steve moved to six. The field was inverted six deep, so Steve started on the pole!!! He says he wasn't nervous, but he sweated like crazy and was just a patting on anyone that talked to him. As most everyone knows, Steve isn't a "touchy" person, so that was definately a sign of nervousness! He finished 5th. I was so excited! I videoed the race from about three stories up and after the race, I had a problem coming down the steps. My legs were shakey. I was more nervous after the race than before it started! I was sooooooo proud of him! He did GREAT!!

Saturday was Birthday central. Presents on top of presents! He had such a great birthday party! We ate good and had a great time. Uncle Gary did a great job putting all of his toys together. Buzzy and I had a nap after everyone left and when he got up, he was recharged and ready to go! He and Daddy were busy all evening. They went from one new thing to the next. Grandmother and Papa Steve got Buzzy a Pac-Man game for his TV. Daddy likes it until he gets killed. We were all three in Buzzy's room, while Buzzy played with his HotWHeels door toy and Steve played PacMan. Steve got killed and, didn't yell, but stated loudly "That just sucks!" I looked at him funny and he said "Oops!" Buzzy's toys aren't a good influence on Daddy!!

SPECIAL DELIVERY!!!!

Got a new mailbox for those big packages that Buzzy gets in the mail. The mailman likes to show up when I'm still in my gown. Not a good surprise.

Anyway...it's big enough for a small child!! HEE HEE!

This is what we do.

Summertime and the Livin' is...

...depends on who you are referring too. If it's Buzzy, the living is easy. If you are the other two, well, maybe the living is hot? As soon as Stewart pulled into the driveway, Buzzy was ready for a boat ride. Daddy got suckered into riding too and it was a sight watching those three! Buzzy "drove" while the men did the paddling. Let's just say they didn't go far, considering they went, mainly, in circles!! Buzzy loved it and eventhough Steve and Stewart would never admit it, I think they did too!!

We have a new niece. Morgan was born this morning at 4 something. She is cute as can be and I bet her Momma and Daddy are tickled over her!

Steve raced Friday. As most everyone knows, he had motor issues. The Motor Fairy came to visit today, so I won't be seeing much of him for a few days! He's been sick since Sunday morning. He went to the Dr. today to get his antibiotics so hopefully he won't be as sick, as long as the rest of us have been. Buzzy was sick on Sunday. Sick stomach and layed around all day. I medicated him up real good and Monday he was a new man! Good thing, because he was determined to swim and paddle boat before the weekend was over!

SLOW DOWN!!!!!!

This picture says it all!!!

Slow and down are words that I have never heard coming out of Steve's mouth together. I heard it this afternoon. Buzzy finally got the 4-wheeler that we have been promising since last June. We took him last week and looked, but didn't find what we were looking for. Mimi and Pappy took him today and, of course, Pappy found just what Buzzy needed!! It's his early birthday present. We were going to get him one for his birthday last year, but I convinced the men to wait until Christmas. Christmas came and I convinced them to wait for the birthday. Well, I went to church this evening and when I pulled into the driveway, he was making laps around the house...BY HIMSELF!!!! Steve had had all the riding he could stand. Steve isn't a good passenger with his son. I just need to say "like father, like son." Buzzy has two speeds...wide open and stop. Nothing in between. He would come FLYING through the backyard and down the driveway, gaining speed by the second. That's when the phrase that I have never heard before was blurted from Stevie's mouth. "SLOW DOWN." Buzzy slid to a stop and proceded to show me, step by step, how to restart his "Speed Buggy" and I knew right then and there that he was no longer a baby. He is officially a boy. Not a "little" boy or a "baby" boy, but a true, red-blooded, thrill-seeking, pedal-to-the-metal, bring-it-on kind of boy. It absolutely scared me to death. Right then and there I realized that Steve's work is just beginning. I had to giggle. Steve has met his match. It's good, real good!!

This was after Buzzy had ran over one of the supports for his swing set. Broke it. Splintered wood hanging from the side of the swing. Buzzy defending, Steve explaining a tree won't break like a board, be careful, slow down, what are we going to do now.

Buzzy said "oh daddy, we can fix it." We went to look at the damage, buzzy picked up the wood and said "this'll make good fire wood." Such and optimist! Pray. Pray hard for us. I'm already having second thoughts.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all! We went to dinner at NaNa's house last night and had such a great time. We got to visit with Lucas and his parents. He has grown so much and just jabbers away! Hope everyone has a great day!!

3. Mt. Tiki Soaki Sprinkler.

Any questions?

He didn't quite get the concept of the "sprinkler." He does not like the water on his head!! Too cute!

Race Recap

The race went really well. Steve finished 6th or 7th. Not sure which. He got caught up in a little fender-bender. He was glad to get it over with!! I've begged him not to scratch my decals. He told everyone that it's over with, no more worrying about scratches!! Buzzy thinks he's as big as the big boys. He keeps me a nervous wreck. He likes running up and down the ramp on the trailer and I am scared to death he will run out in front of a car. That's what I'm there for; to worry about them!!

We were what Aunhee calls "heathens" today. We stayed home from church and rested. Buzzy has a touch of a stomach virus and Stevie's knee is swelled up. I'm going to make him a Dr.'s appointment in the morning to see whats going on. I thought he was just being whiny this morning, but tonight his knee is swelled and feverish feeling. I'm going to ice him up and put him to bed. Children wear me out. Sissy had a little upset stomach this morning, so all I've done today is clean up messes! Hers and Buzzy's and now doctoring on the knee!! A womans work is never done, huh? Everybody have a good week!

Disney In Review

We had a wonderful time at Disney. We did way too much to put every detail on here. I'm just going to include a few of my favorite pictures and when I see everyone, I'll give you all the details. This picture is from our character dinner. The chipmunks are Buzz's favorite and this is Dale his favorite of the two chipmunks.

These ears have blue lights in them. They are really cool at night and, of course, Buzzy had to have the coolest of the ears!

Easter Egg Dying

NaNa made me feel bad because I didn't want to dye eggs this year. I am so glad she did so, because I had one happy little boy. He was in the garage with Daddy on Saturday night, so I went ahead and boiled the eggs and let them cool before I hollered at him on the walkie talkie. He has started talking to me when I call down there for them. It's so sweet. We have to give him a little help, because he hasn't quite gotten down the "hold-the-button-and-talk-at-the-same-time" concept! He has to repeat himself quite a bit.

Anyway. the conversation went something like this.

Me: (remember this is on a walkie-talkie) Hey Buzzy

B: Go ahead Momma

Me: you gonna help me color these eggs or what?

B: (screams trailing off from the radio) I wanna go, I wanna go, I wanna go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Daddy: Be there in a minute!

Daddy got to help too. It's funny how this big macho, Daddy-type gets when you bring out kiddo stuff, like egg dye. He was all into hiding them on Sunday too. Me and Pappy were in charge of the hiding and Stevie got to carry the basket while Buzz-wuz seeked. The eggs were a little battered by the time we hid them a couple of times. We had explained that they were real and that you had to be REALLY careful with them. That lasted about two eggs and then he was slamming them in the basket and running for more! The real ones are his "outside" eggs and the plastic ones are "inside" ones!

I must say, I don't recall ever actually dying Easter eggs, I'm sure I did, but it has left my memory. It was worth every drip of red dye on my kitchen counter (I see why they recommend using plastic under your work area!!) and I got to use my clorox bleach pen and guess what, it's works!!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter from Buzzy and Mimi's little friend!

Not racing tonight. It's supposed to be in the 20's tonight and they called it off. We have the decals on the car and it looks sooooo good! Happy Easter everyone and Buzzy loved all of his goodies! He will be going to an egg hunt tomorrow if it's not snowing!!
