Silly boys

What's wrong with this picture? Why is it that as soon as he is too big for the stroller, he wants to ride in it all the time?

Henry loves sunglasses!

Rookie League

I once said that I dreaded having children that would play baseball. It seemed that games were always sweltering hot or frigid cold, dusty, and way too long. My opinion has changed now that my child is the one playing!
Buzzy started Rookie League this fall and he loves it! He is playing with the Greenville League. As far as I know his friend Cooper and one other boy are the only one's from CC that signed up. For those of you that don't know, Rookie League is what they play between T-ball and Little League. They use a pitching machine instead of a pitcher.
He was a bit nervous. When I saw the crowd that had turned out to watch, I was nervous for him. His first trip to the plate was a success with a single hit. His second trip he struck out. He needed a bathroom break and on our way, he told me that he had gotten out. I told him that it happens all the time and to just try real hard the next time. He ended up with a total of 3 hits and only one strike-out! We were so proud of him! He has improved so much in just two short weeks. Pappy told us he wasn't sure if he got more nervous over Steve's races or Buzzy's games!

His very first trip to the plate!

Run, run, run!

Henry's just too cool!

He's growing up way too fast.

Monkey in the House

We have a little climber, and he's sneaky about it.

Steve in the "News"

There is a photographer at the racetrack every Friday night. While we were waiting for Steve to qualify last night, the photographer came over to take some pictures of Henry with Steve's car. This photographer also has a blog and informed us that Steve had gotten his award from the week before. This is the link. It tickled me to death. Steve just smiled!!

First Day of Kindergarten

What a day! After many days of dreaded anticipation, the day finally arrived. I didn't cry, and he didn't cry, so the day was a success! I cried two nights ago. I lay down with Buzzy most everynight. Two nights ago, he had already drifted off to sleep, and my tears began flowing and flowing and flowing. I guess it has left my system, because I didn't feel the urge at all today. When I took him to school, he went to his seat and began coloring. I told him I would see him afterwhile to which he answered "See ya in seven hours!" He looked up at me with those blues eyes and gave me a big smile. That was all I needed to walk out of there tear free!

When I picked him up, he was still smiling and anxious to tell me all about his day. The highlights included a trip around the school looking for the Gingerbread man, going to the gym, learning that he has to sit on his bottom on the slide at the playground, and having lunch with Cooper and Chase. He was hungry after school. His request was an oreo blizzard ASAP!

We went to eat supper tonight. While eating, he asked if we could go straight home so he could go to sleep. He and Henry were both in the bed and asleep at 9:00! That NEVER happens at this house. That could be the one highlight of going to school! Steve and I have enjoyed the early quiet the last two nights. Well, one day down, and I don't have a clue how many to go!

Henry was waiting on me when I got home! This put a smile on my unsure face!

All dressed up and ready to go!

His pencil box was waiting for him at his seat. He was excited to see his stuff there.

He wanted a snack before bedtime. When I went in to lay/lie (help me out English people) down with him, this is what I found. He was so sleepy, he didn't get to finish his cookies and milk.

Driving Lessons

I felt it was time for Buzzy to learn how to drive the Rhino. He did great on his first trip up the driveway! He had to show Daddy how good he did by taking him for a ride also!

Henry says "HELP!!"

Catch of the Day

Anyone that has needed to purchase a gift for Buzzy knows what a difficult tasks this can be. He's not like most children. Instead of HotWheels and action figures, he would rather have duct tape and a box. Regular toys are tossed to the side within hours of being opened. He has watched too many episodes of "How It's Made" "MythBusters," and most recently "Junkyard Wars." He loves building and seeing , hands-on, how things work. For this, I am extremely thankful.

He went to town with MiMi yesterday afternoon. She offered to take him to the Dollar General to pick up a little something. He requested Uncle Lee's, since they were already in Greenville. He took her to the fishing department and picked out a fishing net. He brought it home and stood on our second floor balcony, giving me orders of when to walk under him. Of course, I was caught in his net several times, to his enjoyment! Henry was outside with Steve, riding on the Bobcat. When it was time for Steve to use his chainsaw, he brought Henry into the house. Little did Henry know that he would become Buzzy's Catch of the Day!

Alabama vacation

We took our camper to Alabama and camped at Weiss Lake. Steve's parents have a trailer there and we parked at the neighbor's RV pad. We had a really good time jet skiing, water skiing, tubing, swimming, boat riding, and eating!
Henry went for his first jet ski ride while we were there. The rides always made him very sleepy. He liked the ride, hated the hat!

Uncle Ryan has a two seated tube. Steve and Buzzy were quite comfy following along behind the boat!

Uncle Ryan is Buzzy's hero! He took Buzzy jug fishing! Buzzy LOVED it, especially since he caught this catfish!

Happy times!! I love this picture!

Henry gets the whole "No Shoes, No shirt, No Problems!"

I remember doing just this with my dad! Thinking back, I thought how dangerous it was! When Steve and Buzzy said they were going to ski, I just went with the flow! Someday, Buzzy will do this with his child, just like our parents did with us!

Note to self
Never panic when your marshmallow catches on fire! Buzzy gets extremely excited over the smallest things. His marshmallow caught on fire, imagine that!, and he freaked! He began waving it frantically. The marshmallow flew through the air, hitting Buzzy on the forehead! Smoldering marshmallow isn't really good on the skin! Leave it to my Buzzy! We never know what we are going to be faced with next!!

Henry is 1!!

Henry's first birthday party was a joint birthday/Father's Day Celebration held at Aunhee's house. He was so excited with his birthday treasures!
Alisha did a great job with his first birthday cake! She did a yummy strawberry cake for the Father's!

When Buzzy and Lucas would get loud, Henry would get loud right back! He thinks he's so funny when he screams at the older boys!

Henry LOVES his Elmo live! We found Elmo at Wally world and I knew he had to have ELMO for his special day!

My baby! Oh, they are both my babies!

He wasn't too sure about the cake. He liked the candle better than the cake. To be honest, it hurt me to see him mess up his pretty cake, so I didn't mind that he wasn't interested in playing in it!

TieDye

I had made big plans to do something crafty with Buzzy everyday. He gets bored easily, so I thought a project would be good for him. We haven't accomplished many projects this summer, but we did do tie dyed shirts. We went to NaNa's one day and used her stainless steel tubs to soak our shirts. They turned out pretty darn good! I was proud of them!

Henry didn't care! He just needed his plug!

I bought Henry a Cabbage Patch doll with life-like hair. When he goes to sleep he has to have a handful of my hair in his grasp. I thought that maybe I could trick him with the doll. Was I wrong. He thought she was funny, but when it came to nap time those thoughts were tossed to the wind! He reaches over her and grabs my hair! Wasted money!

Buzzy was so proud of his shirt!

Super Busy Buzzy...

This has been the busiest week of my life, so far! I know that as the children get older and more active, I will be stretched even further. For the first time, Buzzy was worn out at the end of each day. He went to Bible school at FBC last week. He isn't used to rising before brunch. He had t-ball, the fair, and a birthday all fit into one week. It is Sunday night and if I hadn't taken a little siesta with Henry, I would be dead to the world as I type! Following are a "few" of my favorite moments from a week that was filled to the fullest!
Buzzy getting his medallion for T-Ball! He loves T-ball!
He was so sad after their last huddle for the season. He came over to show me his treasure, and I could see the tears welling up in his beautiful blue eyes! As I wrapped him in my arms, I asked why he was sad. He sobbed that it had ended too soon. Such a good cry. Not a cry of not wanting to go, but one of not wanting it to end.

When Daddy shaves, Buzzy shaves! He has his own razor and can of shaving cream. My Papaw always put after shave on me when he was done shaving! I loved smelling like him!

Buzzy wanted Cooper to go to the fair. His parents were kind enough to let him go with the crazy Ashley Family! They had a blast. We finally pried them away close to 10:30! I had asked Cooper's dad if he had a curfew! It's a good thing that he didn't! They were still going strong when we left. I think they would have stayed until the fair closed up at midnight!

Buzzy was not happy that Cooper had gotten to the steering wheel on the bumper cars first!! Coopers feet wouldn't touch the pedals, so Buzzy ended up driving anyway!

The Tilt-A-Whirl ended up being their favorite ride. They got on, then off, then on, then off........

Sunday we went to the lake. My cousin felt sorry for us sitting on the bank, so he let us borrow his deckboat! Nana, Papaw, Aunhee and Gary came by for a visit to check on the progress of the house. Everyone but NaNa and Papaw went for a ride. Henry was the tour guide!!

I thought Mimi and Aunhee were quite the hotties! Too bad they are married to a couple of notties!!! Just joking, Dad & Gary!!

My roommate from college made Buzzy's birthday cake. He wanted one with "pistals". That means pedestals! I told him he didn't need Pistals, but he got a two tiered one still. The top layer was chocolate and the bottom white. It was so yummy. It hurt to cut into it!

Henry found Aunhee's bra while he was crawling around at the party!

Then he rode a tricycle. He is extremely advanced for his age!!

Present opening was pandemonium!

Buzzy with his pinata. ***Note to self*** Don't include boxes of Nerds in next pinata. It is not the least bit fun picking them up when the boxes bust!

Henry seemed to have the ladies to himself!!

****WARNING****

If I didn't know how funny the following pictures were, they would disturb me. It looks like I really do keep my children in cages. I PROMISE he did this himself. He was so pitiful the second time, that I have decided to keep a much closer eye on him!

Buzzy finally got his coyote trap. He has wanted one since his last birthday. I was stumped on what to get him. When we would ask what he wanted, coyote trap was the only answer that we have gotten for months. After his party, mom brought it over. Steve, Mimi and I were in the house gabbing about who knows what. I went to get something out of the truck and this is what I found. Buzzy had "trapped" himself! I asked how long he had been in it, and he said as long as Mimi had been here. That was a good 10 minutes!! He was beginning to panic!! I thought he would learn his lesson quickly, but...

this morning I was getting ready to go to Wal-Mart and he was outside playing. Guess what I found when I went out. This time there were tears. The dog is smart enough to stay out of it. When will Buzzy learn????
